Over the past day, another rumor had spread through the village: Kagami Uchiha, once a Uchiha prodigy, had put Konoha above all else because the Uchiha family behind him was too powerful.

That power had threatened Danzo, who had used underhanded schemes to kill him. Otherwise, given Kagami Uchiha's character and his family's support, he would now have been an Advisor of considerable standing at the very least.

The rumor caused an uproar among the Uchiha. Countless clan members debated whether it was true.

Kagami Uchiha had placed Konoha first and understood the importance of both the village and his family. But back then, there had been little conflict between Konoha and the Uchiha, at least as far as many clan members could see.

The Security Force watched over all of Konoha, and the family had been gathered in a vast Uchiha District. The Uchiha had held considerable power then. Many clan members had failed to see the schemes hidden in the Second Hokage's plans.

Even now, many clan members remained comfortable and saw nothing wrong with what the Second Hokage had done.

Over the past two days, shinobi within the family had repeatedly called for a new investigation into Kagami Uchiha's death and for Danzo to be held accountable.

At Fugaku's home, father and son sat facing each other.

"You should already know what's been happening in Konoha and within the family lately," Uchiha Tenjo said.

Fugaku nodded. "The Elders Council knows how to stir people up, but it's a shame they aren't using that talent for any good purpose. Kagami Uchiha has been dead for years. Even an investigation would accomplish little.

"So many years have passed. If Danzo really did it, he probably destroyed the evidence long ago."
