The Uchiha scattered into the forest in search of clues. In the dimness, only their crimson Sharingan flashed among the trees.
By nightfall, they had found nothing. Fugaku called the clan members together and set up camp where they stood.
That evening, several Uchiha Jonin gathered in Fugaku's tent.
"Fugaku, how sure are you about this? We've mobilized half the Security Force. If we find no clues, the Uchiha will become a laughingstock," one of the clan's Jonin said.
"Don't worry. The two missing clan members may not have had Three-Tomoe Sharingan, but it wouldn't have been easy to subdue Uchiha Ninja in an instant. They must have left important clues in the forest.
"Whoever decided to target the Uchiha will have to face the clan's wrath."
"I hope so."
"Go and get some rest. Tomorrow may bring an unexpected discovery, and when it does, a hard fight may await us.
"The enemy captured two Uchiha without anyone noticing, despite all our defenses. We can't underestimate them."
"All right. Get some rest too, Fugaku."
"You're the one holding our clan together. As long as you're here, everyone can keep their spirits up."
The Uchiha Jonin rose and left Fugaku's tent. Only Jin and the members of the Assassination Team remained. Those seven represented the clan's younger generation.
They were also the core members Fugaku had chosen, and so far, they had performed well.
"Fugaku, you already have a lead, don't you?" Fujimoto said. "You always plan before you act. You wouldn't have mobilized so many people without solid information."
"That's right, but I can't tell you yet. Guess for yourselves. The real culprit isn't hard to figure out."
"Fugaku, what are you going to do when we still don't have any clues?" Jin asked.
"Use the method they're best at."
