The weather in Konoha was gloomy that morning. Fugaku glanced at the sky. It would probably rain today.
Rain was common in the Land of Fire. After washing up, he left home and vanished with the Body Flicker Technique.
Quite a few ninjas had come to Training Ground Eight to watch. Fugaku Uchiha was a fighter renowned throughout the Shinobi World.
His two disciples were about to face each other, and plenty of people in Konoha were curious. Both could be called prodigies.
Minato in particular was not only Fugaku's disciple but Jiraiya's as well. Many expected him to win.

Two figures flashed into the Training Ground: Minato and Uchiha Fū. The spectators included members of both the regular Ninja Corps and the Security Force.
Fugaku appeared silently in a tree beside the Training Ground, unnoticed by anyone.
"Uchiha Fū."
"Minato Namikaze."
They exchanged names and stared each other down. Almost simultaneously, they vanished.
Two blurs streaked across the Training Ground. Both pushed off hard, closing the distance at tremendous speed.
Kunai appeared in their right hands almost at once. They leaped, swung, and their weapons slammed together.
Clang!
Sparks flew as both retreated. The three tomoe in Uchiha Fū's eyes slowly turned, letting him see Minato's movements clearly.
Minato's expression grew grave. This was the first time he had faced an evenly matched opponent.
The moment he found his footing, he pushed off again, driving his speed to its limit as he slashed furiously with his kunai.
The Sharingan in Uchiha Fū's eyes spun faster. He could see Minato's movements clearly, but moving any faster himself was difficult.
No wonder their teacher chose him as a disciple. He's younger than me, but he's no weaker. He's already a capable ninja.
A cold glint flashed along his kunai.
