Without realizing it, Fugaku had begun sharing some of his beliefs with Mikoto.
Mikoto was poised and gracious, more than capable of being the wife of the Uchiha Clan Head.
She was also quick-witted. Though still young, she was a seasoned ninja who had seen plenty of life and death at Konoha Hospital.
Mikoto had already awakened the Two-Tomoe Sharingan and possessed the strength of a Chunin. She had good Chakra control, too, and had mastered some Medical Ninjutsu.
Mikoto could understand Fugaku's beliefs more easily than most. They would spend their lives together, and knowing what each of them believed would make that life easier.
It would also help them guide the next generation. The lack of guidance from his parents had played a part in Itachi's tragic end.
If Mikoto understood Fugaku's beliefs, she could pass them on to Itachi, making it easier for father and son to understand each other.
Itachi's greatest problem was that he was too clever. From a young age, he understood truths that many ninja never grasped in their entire lives.
He had also grown up at the end of the Third Shinobi World War and witnessed far too much cruelty. The Sharingan itself had a way of magnifying what lay in a person's heart.
Young Itachi had been through too much and was full of doubts. With little communication between him and his parents, no one answered his questions. In the end, the Third Hokage found an opening and pushed him toward an extreme.
"What are you thinking about? You look miles away," Mikoto asked.
Fugaku smiled. "I was wondering what we'll name our children someday, and whether they'll be little troublemakers."
Mikoto blushed. The Uchiha District was not large, and before long they had walked out onto the streets of Konoha.
