In a forest in the Land of Fire, Fugaku led the rested Konoha forces forward at speed. Their fifteen-day break was over, and they were returning to the Land of the Moon to relieve another group of Konoha shinobi.
Half a month with their families had rekindled the troops' fighting spirit. They were nothing like they had been before.
As Fugaku returned to the Land of the Moon, Kirigakure's forces did not gather again. Instead, they split into small squads, each taking a different route to infiltrate the Land of Fire.
At the Land of Lightning border, the Fourth Raikage looked grim. Half a month had passed since his escape from the Land of the Moon, yet the letter he had sent to Kirigakure had sunk without a trace. There had been no response.
An intelligence officer approached and handed the Raikage a report from a spy in Kirigakure.
The Raikage read it, and a faint smile appeared on his face. "Heh. Kirigakure has made its move. We'll call off the war in the Land of the Moon and infiltrate the countries surrounding the Land of Fire first.
"We'll use those countries as stepping stones to advance into the Land of Fire."
"What do you mean, Big Brother?" Killer B asked as he walked over.
The Raikage handed Killer B the report. "Kirigakure has shown us the way. We can't beat them head-on, so we'll find another route."
As Cloud and Mist set their plans in motion once more, at the Sunagakure Camp on Kikyō Mountain...
