Fugaku felt the changes in his body and could not help feeling pleased, even though he had expected to awaken the Rinnegan around this time.
At the latest, it would have awakened by the end of this war. With the Rinnegan, he would have no real weaknesses in the Shinobi World. Even Ōnoki's Dust Release would be unable to do anything to him.
His only serious enemies left were the few members of the Otsutsuki clan from beyond the heavens.
Just then, an intelligence officer entered. Fugaku opened his eyes. "What is it?"
"Lord Fugaku, this is the intelligence gathered from various locations. It marks where the surrounding Small Nations have been infiltrated and the routes the enemy may take."
Fugaku was somewhat surprised. He had not expected Jin and the scouts to work so quickly.
He studied the scroll. Its markings were fairly detailed. Many ninja from the two villages might still be undiscovered, but Fugaku no longer cared.
Killing those already identified would be enough to deal a heavy blow to the forces Kumogakure and Kirigakure had sent.
"Find out which Uchiha captain is closest to the camp," Fugaku said.
"The closest is Captain Uchiha Hitoshi," the intelligence officer replied. "He's stationed not far ahead of the camp, along the Land of Fire Border."
"Send word to Uchiha Hitoshi. Tell him to return to camp at once. I have something for him to do."
"Yes, sir."
The intelligence officer turned and left. Two hours later, Hitoshi hurried in.
Judging by his travel-worn appearance, he had likely activated Berserk and sprinted the whole way back. Fugaku smiled.
Hitoshi was a ninja he held in high regard—a true tiger of a warrior, fierce in battle and possessed of an unshakable confidence.
"Clan Head, I heard you wanted to see me,"
