On the day of the wedding, Konoha was bustling. Even the Daimyo of the Land of Fire sent an envoy to offer his congratulations.
Guests arrived at the wedding dressed in their finest. Most of the Civilian Ninja and businesspeople wore suits.
The leading figures of the major clans wore clothing that represented their families.
Fugaku and Mikoto approached hand in hand, wearing the formal attire of the Uchiha Clan Head and his wife.
All of Tsunade's immediate family had died, so the Third Hokage attended the wedding as her elder.
Orochimaru and Jiraiya accompanied her as representatives of the bride's family.
"I'm so happy for Tsunade. It hasn't been easy for her and Dan to get here," Mikoto said.
Fugaku looked at Tsunade. Dressed for the occasion and smiling broadly, she seemed like a different person. He nodded.
Marrying Dan was like a new beginning for Tsunade. At the very least, it would help her move beyond the grief of Nawaki's death.
It seemed Jiraiya and Tsunade simply weren't meant to be together.
"Yes. Being with Dan is a good outcome for Tsunade."
The wedding soon began, and guests offered their blessings and gifts.
The lively day passed quickly. Two days later, Jiraiya left Konoha, saying he needed to gather material.
Fugaku could see that Jiraiya's good wishes for Tsunade were sincere, though the disappointment in his heart was hard to hide.
After Jiraiya's departure, the village returned to its usual rhythm.
Fugaku let Orochimaru know he was leaving, then went straight to the room where the Tailed Beasts were kept and picked up all six Jars containing the sealed beasts.
He vanished with the Flying Thunder God Technique and appeared in a forest in the Land of Fire. A Space-Time Passage opened, and Fugaku emerged on the moon.
