Sasuke was still asleep. Fugaku looked at him, and through his body, he could see a human-shaped mass of Chakra deep within his soul.

It was probably Indra's reincarnation. Indra no longer had a will of his own; he simply kept reincarnating, driven by some lingering obsession.

Indra's reincarnation was bound to be accompanied by Asura's. The two had been entangled for over a thousand years, but Indra had not yet merged with Sasuke.

He would probably do so gradually as Sasuke grew older.

Fugaku laid the sleeping Sasuke back beside Mikoto, left the room, and entered a Space-Time Passage. Black mist flashed, and he appeared in the Underground Cavern where the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path was kept.

The statue was noticeably smaller, only half its former size. Over the past few years, it had regained its original shape.

Fugaku carefully examined the surroundings. The Sealing showed signs of being disturbed, but Yin-Yang Release was not something an ordinary Ninja could break through.

Whatever had touched it was either a small animal living underground or a White Zetsu.

With a wave of his hand, Fugaku undid the Yin-Yang Release he had placed around the cavern. The statue was still dormant. A streak of golden light shot out of the black mist and swept across it.

Three cuts in quick succession carved away nearly a third of its Flesh. Fugaku sent it to the moon through a Space-Time Passage.

Roar!

A frenzied howl burst from the statue's mouth. Stones rained from the cavern ceiling as its enormous claws swiped wildly around it.

It slowly rose, then crouched and roared as it crawled forward. Every tube connected to its body snapped free and retracted into it.

Cultivating White Zetsu was an order Kaguya had given over a thousand years ago,
