Before Green Forest City fell, Mona worked as a fashion designer and lived with her husband and child. She remembers their family trips as a happy part of her former life 142 172.

Yu Yuan finds her bound and gravely wounded in the basement of No. 68, where Fedmon is assaulting her. Her husband has been tortured and hanged, and her child drowned in a paint bucket. Yu Yuan kills Fedmon, ending the immediate threat 21.

When Mona awakens, she asks Yu Yuan to kill her. Instead, he leaves her a dagger and food and urges her to survive and seek vengeance. She remembers his departing figure as the image that later helps her endure her nightmares 21 499.

Marsil subsequently shelters and treats her at No. 7 Canchino Avenue. Mona remains weak enough to use a wheelchair, but her gaze has become colder and more disturbed. She intends to leave once she recovers and refuses to let her circumstances dictate whether Marsil should trust Yu Yuan 38.

Mona reappears at Johnk Zoo under the identity Zoe, now a student of Missionary Miller with authority over ordinary Society members.
