# Chapter 5: Chloe and the Eighth Servant
"A pity, the Magic Circuits can never be as perfect as Illya's or Justeaze's, but they're enough..."
Acht operated the magical device before him, pouring the necessary memories into the girl's body, then awakened her.
"Chloe von Einzbern!"
"Patriarch!"
"Follow me."
Acht led Chloe to the Treasury, sifting through a pile of treasures for a moment before finally selecting a bloodstained White Helmet. Then, at the circular platform at the end of the Treasury, he carved the summoning runes.
"Go."
Through his hidden authority, Acht granted Chloe the Command Spells of the Eighth Class—the Avenger Class—and handed her the helmet.
"Yes, Patriarch!"
Chloe took the helmet and placed it at the center of the runes.
"I hereby swear—"
With a blinding flash of red light, a warrior clad in Red-and-White Full Body Armor, their face completely concealed, appeared before her and Acht.
Mordred. One of the Knights of the Round Table, legend held her to be the Son of King Arthur, and also the Rebel Knight who personally ended the King of Knights' legend. To prove to Artoria that she was worthy of being a king, she accepted Chloe's summoning.
"Get familiar with things tonight. Tomorrow, you depart for Fuyuki City."
"Yes, Patriarch!"
Acht left, leaving the time and space to Chloe and Mordred.
It was then that Mordred finally spoke.
"Oh? My master is a homunculus? And a little girl at that?"
That same irreverent, roguish voice. The Avenger Class had not twisted Mordred's personality or will.
Chloe didn't take her bait. She only said flatly, "If you don't want to be my Servant, I can send you back," and left Mordred with nothing to say.
"A pitiful master. You're just a poor tool..."
Chloe's eyes flickered. She said nothing more. No one knew what was going through her mind.
There was a figure she knew intimately, yet had never seen.
At that moment, that figure was riding in an Antique Vintage Car, completely unaware of everything happening here.
Of course, even if she did know, she'd at most get a headache over it. Mordred was certainly strong, but not invincible. Besides, imagining her and Artoria locked in mutual slaughter—that would be quite entertaining to watch.
Fuyuki City. Due to its latitude, although the season had already turned to winter, the temperature was much higher than in Germany. Even wearing a skirt wouldn't be too cold.
"Miss, the car is ready. Shall we head straight to the castle on the outskirts?"
"No, Sella. First, we're going to Ryuudou Temple."
Just as Su Ning's plane touched down, at the Tohsaka family—one of the Three Leyline Convergence Points—Rin Tohsaka was also carving the Heroic Spirit summoning incantation in her basement.
