I Have a Move, and It's Powerful
Xuan Zi had been sitting atop the cavern, drinking, when the violent commotion below made him pause.
The next instant, he flashed into the depths of the cavern like a streak of light. A cold, frenzied laugh rang out from within.
"Hahaha! You can all die!"
"How do you like my Corpse Explosion? What does it matter how strong you are? Mere ants dared to provoke me!"
The devastation was worst at the center of the blast.
Only Dai Yueheng had sensed something wrong in time. Relying on his powerful physique, he endured the impact as he retreated and barely escaped with his life.
Yao Haoxuan, Chen Zifeng, and Gongyang Mo were swallowed by the raging blast. Whether they lived or died was unknown.
At the rear, Dai Huabin and Zhu Lu failed to react in time. Instinctively, they pulled the sisters Lan Susu and Lan Luoluo in front of them to shield themselves from the impact.
Dizzy from the blast wave, Zhou Yi turned pale. She spun around and fled without hesitation.
"Bastard!"
Xuan Zi cursed as he rushed into the cavern and saw what had happened.
Looking over the rubble-strewn cavern, Xuan Zi slammed down a fist, shattering the thick slab pinning Ning Tian beneath it.
But with so many injured disciples inside, he did not dare unleash too much power.
Moments later, violent explosions sounded one after another in the connected passage below, and the entire passage began to collapse.
Xuan Zi's expression changed. "Zhou Yi, you bastard! Get back here and take all the wounded out!"
Zhou Yi, who had already fled some distance, stopped. Her voice cracked as she screamed, "I can't... I can't do it! My face is hurt! I'm disfigured!"
Xuan Zi was furious. "One more word, and I'll kill you first!"
Zhou Yi went rigid. At last, she gritted her teeth and turned back, struggling to contain her panic as she searched for the wounded.
Xuan Zi snorted and sped deeper into the cavern.
"Yao Haoxuan, Chen Zifeng..."
Before he could finish, several mangled bodies lying on the ground suddenly swelled and emitted a blinding white light.
Xuan Zi's pupils contracted. He immediately drove his Soul Power to its limit to withstand the impact.
"Damn it!"
Three days later, in the wilderness along the Heavenly Soul Empire's border.
One Soul Sage and five Soul Emperors had Xu Sanshi and a Soul Sage surnamed Mo trapped in the forest.
Mo Feiyun's face darkened. "Who are you people? How dare you openly ambush us on the Heavenly Soul Empire's border?"
The men opposite him ignored his question. Their leader, the Soul Sage, studied Xu Sanshi. "Xu Sanshi! Where is Huo Yuhao?"
Xu Sanshi looked helpless. "If you're looking for Huo Yuhao, why surround me? You've got the wrong man."
The Soul Sage sneered. "Stop playing dumb. Our investigation shows that your group left Shrek on the same day several days ago, then appeared together in a border town of the Heavenly Soul Empire."
"Tell us where Huo Yuhao is, or none of you will leave this place today!"
Xu Sanshi frowned. "You know our movements that well? Who exactly are you?"
The Soul Sage snorted. "That's none of your business. Talk, or we'll help jog your memory!"
Mo Feiyun walked slowly to Xu Sanshi's side and slipped him a token. "Leave first when the fighting starts. I'll cover your retreat."
"But..." Xu Sanshi hesitated. "That's too dangerous!"
"I'll be fine," Mo Feiyun said calmly. "I have a Self-Created Soul Skill that can hold them off for a while."
"And my Soul Power is higher than theirs. I can last long enough."
"Head straight to the Spirit Mountain Range. The empire has border troops stationed there. Show them my token and ask for reinforcements."
After a moment's hesitation, Xu Sanshi gritted his teeth and nodded.
Mo Feiyun smiled faintly. "Remember, the instant I make my move, fly away at full speed. Don't look back."
Xu Sanshi nodded. The Flying Soul Tool on his back activated, ready to launch.
The eyes of the men opposite them hardened as they prepared to attack.
Mo Feiyun's lips curved. "I never thought that, after all these years of keeping a low profile, I'd finally have to show my hand today."
As he spoke, the seven Soul Rings around him lit up.
Light-aspected energy gathered and compressed rapidly in his palm, forming a dazzling sphere in an instant.
The opposing Soul Sage grew wary and warned his companions, "Careful. This man is no ordinary opponent."
Mo Feiyun laughed. "Watch closely. Don't blink! This move is going to look incredible!"
His Soul Rings flashed in succession, and Soul Power surged through him.
The sphere in his palm expanded, contracted, then expanded and contracted again. Its mounting energy faintly distorted the surrounding air.
Roar! A tiger's roar rang out.
The opposing Soul Sage's face turned solemn as his muscles bulged.
"We're both Soul Sages. You think I'm afraid of you?"
Mo Feiyun glanced at Xu Sanshi and gave him a subtle signal.
The next instant, the sphere shot from his palm and exploded in the middle of the battlefield.
Xu Sanshi seized the chance. He drove his Flying Soul Tool at full power and sped away without looking back.
Mo Feiyun smiled serenely. "Observe closely. Learn what you can. Even in defeat, you'll benefit from seeing this for the rest of your lives."
But the world-shaking shock wave they expected never came.
Instead, an unbearably bright light instantly flooded the entire forest.
Screams rang out one after another.
"Ah! My eyes!"
The Soul Masters surrounding him felt stabbing pain in their eyes. They clutched their faces and fell to the ground.
Mo Feiyun grinned slyly. "Not bad, my Solar Fist, is it?"
"Hahahaha!"
Xu Sanshi flew at full speed in the direction Mo Feiyun had given him.
Even from so far away, the blinding light behind him was astonishing.
Uncle Mo is that strong? The range of that move is ridiculous!
After a hit like that, those men must be reduced to ashes, right?
Then why did he send me for reinforcements?
Xu Sanshi was puzzled, but he kept flying.
About five minutes later, a burly figure suddenly dove from high above and stopped directly in his path.
The old man's gaze fell on the token in Xu Sanshi's hand. "Boy, is that Old Mo's token? Where did you get it?"
Xu Sanshi hurriedly asked, "Senior, you know Uncle Mo?"
The old man nodded. "I'm Gao Qiang. You could say I'm his superior."
Delighted, Xu Sanshi quickly said, "Thank goodness, senior! Mysterious Soul Masters ambushed us in the forest ahead. Uncle Mo stayed behind to hold them off and sent me to the Spirit Mountain Range for help!"
Gao Qiang nodded. "I see. Then you must be Xu Sanshi, the one young Song mentioned."
Xu Sanshi blinked. "You know me, senior?"
Gao Qiang chuckled. "I was ordered to come to the border and hunt down Evil Soul Masters who've been moving through the area."
"Looks like the timing worked out. Come on, lead the way. We can talk as we go."
"Right!" Xu Sanshi answered at once.
