History

Shrek’s leadership judges Song Que’s ordinary martial soul to have limited future potential despite his current strength, excluding him from the Seven Devils reserve-team selection. Dean Yan Shaozhe also declines to act on Song Que’s concerns about an attack on Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong. Song Que and Huo Yuhao leave the academy; Tang Ya, Wang Dong, Bei Bei, and Xu Sanshi subsequently join their group 1 2 3 4 5.

Sea God Pavilion master Mu En apologizes to Song Que and Huo Yuhao on Shrek’s behalf. He criticizes Yan Shaozhe and Xuan Zi for placing immediate gains above the academy’s integrity and maintains that students should be free to leave 5.

During the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Tournament, Xuan Zi attempts to seize Huo Yuhao after seeing his Ultimate Ice. The incident damages Shrek’s reputation. Mu Jin’s public account of the team’s losses on an Evil Soul Master mission initially wins sympathy, but Jing Hongchen challenges that account. Xuan Zi then attacks Jing, endangering people at the arena. Mu En acknowledges Shrek’s responsibility, removes Xuan Zi from his positions and external authority, and promises compensation 23 24 25 27 28.

Shrek loses a round-robin match to Just Sky Academy, ending its long tournament winning streak. It later reaches the finals, where repeated rule violations lead to a further match loss. Just Sky wins the championship two matches to one, further weakening public confidence in Shrek 31 56 61.

After Mu En’s death, Shrek’s leaders prioritize an alliance against the Holy Spirit Cult. They move to separate the Soul Engineering Department as an independent branch and concentrate the academy’s core resources on traditional Soul Masters. Later changes include stricter student assessments, dismissals of students and staff, new soul-tool academies established with the empires, and a soul master legion formed from remaining inner-court elites 76 77 85.
