Background and History
Lingling is the daughter of Ye Qingxian and Zhao Yan and the granddaughter of healer Ye Renxin. Before Lu Xuan joined the Ye household, she had few playmates and spent much of her time alone. Training with him made her more cheerful; his Muscle-Tendon Changing and Marrow-Cleansing method also improved her appetite and health 1 2.
Her awakening threatened a painful choice for the family: no more than two living people could bear the Nine Heart Begonia at once. Ye Qingxian deliberately degraded her own martial soul to give Lingling a chance to inherit it, while Ye Renxin tested a medicine that induced a deathlike state. Lingling understood that her mother had sacrificed her strength for her and resolved to work toward breaking the family’s inherited limitation 5 12 13.
Before the awakening, Lingling consumed a Ten-Thousand-Year Ginseng King to strengthen her foundation. Although the Nine Heart Begonia weakened during the ceremony, she emerged with twin martial souls rather than the single complete begonia her family had hoped for 14 15.
