A Ten-Thousand-Year Titan Giant Ape as the Fourth Ring
Yu Xiaogang withdrew his gaze from Dugu Bo's face.
It landed on the roaring Titan Giant Ape in the center of the open space.
He glanced at him for a moment, then said, "Alright, stop fooling around. We need to get down to business."
He turned his head to the side, tilting his chin slightly in Dugu Bo's direction.
"Go and take it down. Are you confident?"
Dugu Bo snorted.
He pulled his hands out of his sleeves, flexed his wrists, and his knuckles made a series of crisp cracking sounds.
The eerie green light in his vertical pupils flickered.
Whom do you look down on?
"I am Titled Douluo. A mere monkey?"
After saying this, he leaped into the air, transforming into a streak of turquoise light, and pounced towards the Titan Giant Ape in the center of the open space.
That Titan Giant Ape reacted extremely quickly.
The moment the cyan arc of light approached, it turned around, stretched its arms across its chest, and blocked Dugu Bo's first palm strike.
The palm struck its forearm, exploding into a ring of bluish-green poisonous mist, but its arm only retracted half an inch before bouncing back.
It opened its mouth and let out a roar even louder than before, then slammed its two giant fists down towards Dugu Bo.
Dugu Bo dodged the first punch by sidestepping, but the second punch grazed his shoulder and slammed into the mud. The punch created a crater half a person deep in the swamp, and mud and gravel flew up, splashing all over Dugu Bo's face.
Dugu Bo's expression changed.
He took half a step back, wiped the mud off his face, and muttered something under his breath.
He lit up his Seventh Soul Ring, and the phantom of the Jade Phosphorous Serpent Emperor emerged from behind him. A bluish-green poisonous mist spread in the center of the open space, engulfing the Titan Giant Ape.
But the Titan Giant Ape's skin seemed to have an invisible membrane; the poisonous mist bounced off it and couldn't penetrate its fur at all.
It stood in the poisonous fog for two breaths, then slapped a claw towards Dugu Bo. The force of the claw tore a gash in the fog, and Dugu Bo was forced to slide back three steps before regaining his footing.
Yu Xiaogang stood at the edge of the open space and watched the whole scene unfold. He didn't say anything, but the corners of his mouth curved slightly.
Dugu Bo charged forward again. This time he didn't test him again; his Sixth Soul Ring lit up, Crimson-Forged Iron Python Strangulation.
Two crimson pythons emerged from the ground and coiled around the Titan Giant Ape's legs, one on each side.
The Titan Giant Ape's steps were entangled by the two giant pythons, and its body sank down, but its arms were still swinging, and one claw went for Dugu Bo's face.
Dugu Bo turned his head to avoid it, and the claw grazed past his hair, tearing off a strand of green hair.
His face was even uglier than before. He poured some of his Soul Power into the two Crimson-Forged Iron Python, and the pythons tightened their grip even more.
The Titan Giant Ape struggled a few times, its knees bent for a moment, but it held on.
It lowered its head and let out a muffled roar. With a sudden burst of strength, it snapped the two Crimson-Forged Iron Python in half, turning them into countless crimson fragments of light that scattered across the muddy ground.
Dugu Bo's lips twitched.
He stood in the mud, his green robe stained with mud and fallen leaves, and a strand of his hair was disheveled; he looked much more disheveled than before.
He glanced back at Yu Xiaogang, then turned away again.
The snake, thirty or forty meters long, coiled its body on the swamp, surrounding the Titan Giant Ape.
The snake's head rose high, pressing down on the Titan Giant Ape's head. The Titan Giant Ape braced itself with its arms, blocking the snake's jaw. The two giant fists and the snake's head were locked in a stalemate in mid-air for a moment, then another moment.
Its knees bent once, then bent again.
Dugu Bo stood on the snake's head, suppressing all his Soul Power, and the snake's head sank down little by little.
The Titan Giant Ape's feet sank into the mud, its calves half-submerged. It let out a muffled roar, and its arms began to tremble.
Dugu Bo increased his strength by another ten percent, and the snake's head finally pressed down on its head, shoving its entire body into the mud.
The Titan Giant Ape's struggles grew weaker and slower until finally its limbs lay flat and it stopped moving.
Dugu Bo jumped down from the snake's head and stood in the mud, catching his breath.
His robes were covered in mud, his sleeves were torn, a strand of his hair was disheveled, and his face bore a shallow scratch from the gravel.
He wiped the mud off his face, then rolled his eyes at Yu Xiaogang: "Alright. Got it."
The smile on Yu Xiaogang's lips hadn't yet faded.
He nodded.
"Take it back to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well for absorption; it will be easier for Ye Lin to absorb it there."
The three of them carried the dying Titan Giant Ape back to the valley of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.
Yu Xiaogang instructed Dugu Bo to place the Titan Giant Ape by the spring, then nodded in Ye Lin's direction.
Ye Lin stepped forward, flicked out his Dark Golden Dragon Claw with his right hand, the five claw tips coming together to form an arc, and chopped down towards the Titan Giant Ape's head.
When that claw struck, a crack appeared in the Titan Giant Ape's skull, and a black Spirit Ring rose from the crack.
Ye Lin sat cross-legged in the spring, closed his eyes, and channeled his Soul Power to Entanglement with the Spirit Ring.
The moment the Spirit Ring entered his body, his body trembled violently, his teeth clenched, and spring water surged up from both sides of his back, wrapping, neutralizing, and merging the surging power layer by layer.
When Ye Lin stood up from the spring, it was already dark.
He stood by the spring like a young beast that had just grown up, every muscle in his body taut with a solid strength.
His Soul Power increased from level 40 to level 42.
He clenched his fist, the cracking sound between his knuckles deeper and more muffled than before.
He took a step forward, his foot landing on the rock, which cracked open with a thin line.
He frowned, took another step, and another rock cracked.
His brows furrowed deeper and deeper, his hands hanging limply at his sides, his knuckles clenching and unclenching repeatedly.
Yu Xiaogang stood to the side and witnessed this scene.
He spoke, his tone unhurried. "Your power is increasing too fast. You can't control it?"
Ye Lin nodded.
Yu Xiaogang brought out a ceramic basin containing a ball of kneaded dough.
I had already considered this issue of yours.
"Kneading the dough. Knead the dough well, but don't break the bowl. You've got it under control when it's kneaded properly."
Ye Lin glanced down at the lump of dough in the earthenware basin, asked no further questions, squatted down, and placed both hands into the basin.
Ye Lin pressed both hands into the earthenware basin. The moment his fingers touched the dough, before he could even apply any pressure, a crack appeared on the edge of the basin.
With a flick of his finger, the entire earthenware basin shattered in two, and the dough fell onto the stone platform, rolling twice.
Ye Lin looked down at the broken bowl and dough, and his lips twitched.
