A split-screen appeared in the livestream. Doctor Banting's graceful figure came into view, and she said, "SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, seemed to know SCP-173 Little Peanut's killing rule."
"So it stared at SCP-173 Little Peanut without looking away for a full six hours!"
"From this, the researchers inferred that SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, might be able to identify the killing rules of other Containment Objects."
Doctor Banting's words sent a jolt through the viewers.
SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, truly lived up to its Keter classification.
It could apparently detect the killing rules of other Containment Objects.
That alone put it on a different level from SCP-173 Little Peanut and SCP-096 Shy Guy, which seemed to know nothing but killing!
But if SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, kept staring at SCP-173 Little Peanut...
How were they supposed to execute it?
Would this experiment end without a result?
As everyone puzzled over that question, Doctor Banting spoke again. "Once the researchers realized SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, might never have to blink..."
"They ordered D-class researchers to shoot out its eyes with a large-caliber sniper rifle!"
"A total of 308 D-class researchers died in the process."
"To save time..."
"The footage has been edited. The failed attempts by the first 307 D-class researchers have been cut. Let's go straight to the footage after SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, was blinded!"
Doctor Banting spoke softly, but her words caused quite a stir among the viewers.
After all, 308 D-class researchers had died for a single execution experiment. And judging by Doctor Banting's indifferent tone...
Experiments like this were probably routine within the SCP Foundation.
Some people had wondered before...
Would the individuals and members of the organizations held accountable some time ago be recruited into the SCP Foundation after being taken in?
As far as they knew...
D-class researchers were still researchers! That made them members of the SCP Foundation too.
But now...
They had clearly been kidding themselves. D-class researchers weren't members of the SCP Foundation. They were nothing more than expendable test subjects.
More than half of them had probably already died in experiments.
The SCP Foundation's methods were truly ruthless!
At that thought, the viewers warned themselves: Never go against the Foundation's decisions. Given how the SCP Foundation operates...
I'd be dragged off and used as a test subject too.
Then I'd die at the hands of a Containment Object in some researcher's experiment.
While the viewers kept warning themselves never to defy the Foundation, the livestream began playing the footage from after SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, had been blinded.
Two gunshots rang out, and its eyes became two bloody holes.
SCP-173 Little Peanut, which had been standing quietly in the room, appeared behind SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile. It reached out with its small hands of concrete and rebar...
And placed them on the reptile's neck.
Before the viewers' eyes, it used its conceptual-level neck-snapping ability on SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile.
Crack...
With a sharp snap of bone, SCP-173 Little Peanut broke the reptile's neck, which was as thick as a barrel. Its massive, savage head...
Twisted backward at an impossible angle, and its life signs dropped to zero.
The viewers froze at the sight!
How could this be the outcome? Hadn't the file said SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, was immortal and indestructible?
How had SCP-173 Little Peanut snapped its neck so easily?
[Sengoku: That's it? No way! I admit SCP-173's conceptual-level neck-snapping ability is powerful. Far more powerful than I imagined!]
[But it still shouldn't have snapped SCP-682's neck that easily!]
[Monkey D. Dragon: I thought those two would have a huge fight. And that's all we get?]
[Vegapunk: What else did you expect? Don't forget SCP-173 Little Peanut's characteristics. That seems to be its only ability.]
[If you can withstand it, you live. If you can't, you die!]
[There was never going to be a huge fight!]
[Naruto: So do you think SCP-682 is dead?]
[Sakura: @Naruto, are you an idiot? If SCP-173 Little Peanut had actually executed SCP-682, would the Foundation still have decided to release it into the Dragon Ball world?]
[Hinata: @Sakura! Naruto isn't stupid!]
[Luffy: Six hours? Didn't SCP-682's eyes get tired? I just tried it, and I couldn't last two minutes!]
[Tatsumaki: Where did this clown come from?]
[...]
Just as Naruto derailed the chat again, SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, whose neck had already been snapped by SCP-173 Little Peanut...
Began to heal before the viewers' astonished eyes. The break in its neck closed at a visible speed.
Moments later, it was completely restored.
At the sight, Holy Kesha sighed inwardly. "If Angel Yan had a divine body like that..."
"She wouldn't have..."
More than a month had passed, yet Holy Kesha had kept trying every method she could think of to bring Angel Yan back. Every attempt had failed.
SCP-173 Little Peanut's conceptual neck-snapping ability...
Had severed all the data at Angel Yan's neck on a conceptual level. No matter what Holy Kesha tried, she could not restore it.
In the end, she had to admit that Angel Yan had no hope of being revived.
Unless... the SCP Foundation intervened.
But why would the SCP Foundation revive an alien who had gone to Earth without its permission?
Even so, Holy Kesha had not given up.
She hoped that, in time, she could join the SCP Foundation and rise through its ranks.
Then Angel Yan might still have a chance of being revived.
She knew the odds were slim.
But slim was better than none!
While Holy Kesha was lost in that hope, the newly healed SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, failed to look directly at SCP-173 Little Peanut...
And had its neck snapped again.
This time, to everyone's astonishment, SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, healed even faster than before.
It recovered almost in the blink of an eye.
But no matter how fast SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, healed, it could not outpace SCP-173 Little Peanut's neck-snapping ability. As long as it failed to look directly at Little Peanut...
Little Peanut could snap its neck instantly.
Crack...
Crack...
Crack...
...
And so the two Containment Objects reached a stalemate. SCP-682 kept healing, while SCP-173 Little Peanut kept snapping its neck...
In a flash, SCP-173 Little Peanut snapped SCP-682's neck over a thousand times.
The viewers thought the interaction experiment would end amid that endless string of cracks!
But what happened next stunned them.
When SCP-173 Little Peanut tried to snap SCP-682's neck yet again, the viewers realized something shocking...
It couldn't.
That was right. It couldn't snap the neck!
Its little hands of concrete and rebar gripped SCP-682's neck, but no matter how hard it tried...
It could only turn the reptile's head slightly.
SCP-682 looked as though it was struggling too, but its neck did not break.
The viewers stared in shock. Then they realized that SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, must have evolved...
An immunity to conceptual-level neck-snapping.
A chill ran through them at the thought!
How could it not?
This was a conceptual-level neck-snapping ability!
Even Yan of the Holy Left Wing had died to it without any chance to resist. Yet in just three or four minutes, SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, had...
Evolved an immunity to it.
That rate of evolution was terrifying.
The viewers were still reeling from SCP-682's fearsome ability to evolve...
When the next image appeared.
It left them standing motionless, their minds blank and not a word to say!
SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, Descends on an Altered Dragon Ball Universe: The Slaughter Begins
(Third update, a five-thousand-word chapter. Please subscribe. I'd only just started writing Dragon Ball when Mr. Toriyama passed away, and I'm writing a heavily altered version. I feel a little guilty. Rest in peace, sir.)
In the livestream, SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, remained locked in a stalemate with SCP-173 Little Peanut for a while. Then, before the horrified viewers' eyes, eyeballs began sprouting one after another from different parts of its body.
Some of the eyes were even covered by thick, transparent, shell-like shields. The moment they appeared, every eye fixed on SCP-173 Little Peanut.
Caught in their direct line of sight, SCP-173 Little Peanut lost the ability to move.
A chill ran through the viewers. Now they were beginning to understand what the file meant by "limitless evolution."
They had assumed it meant developing an immunity to whatever harmed it.
But they had never imagined...
That SCP-682's "limitless evolution" could do more than develop resistance to harm. It could also evolve on its own initiative.
Combined with its immortality and indestructibility, that ability gave SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, limitless potential. Left unchecked, it could grow to an unimaginable level in very little time.
SCP-682, the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, truly deserved its Keter classification!
It was terrifying!
[Ōnoki: I wonder if my Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World could kill SCP-682. If even that couldn't do it...]
[That would be terrifying. If SCP-682 appeared in our Ninja World...]
[It could probably destroy our entire world in just a few days.]
[Pain: @Ōnoki. Stop dreaming. I admit your Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World is powerful, but it can't even kill someone brought back by Impure World Reincarnation.]
[And you think it could destroy SCP-682?]
[I think sealing it is our best option.]
