Bai Xuan cleared his throat, then turned to Xilin. "Xilin, should we... set the mood a little first?"

A shadow crossed Xilin's blue eyes. "Have I been... eating too much lately? I'm sorry..."

"No, no!"

Bai Xuan hurriedly waved his hands.

He just didn't want to rush straight into it as though they were completing a task.

But he didn't know how to explain. To a Succubus, this was simply a way to feed. It didn't call for an emotional buildup.

Of course, Xilin wasn't quite like other Succubi.

Raised by the Light Pope since childhood, she had developed values much like a human's.

That was why she had insisted on waiting until the Sacred Pact was fulfilled before feeding for the first time.

"Forget it! We'll do it your way!"

Bai Xuan stopped overthinking it, slipped off his clothes, and released a dazzling Holy Light!

A faint smile touched Xilin's lips. "Thank you."

Meanwhile, Su Yue quietly brought Marée Alaira back to the Lakeside Villa and settled her in her room.

But Marée Alaira remained cold toward this stranger.

Apart from Bai Xuan, she didn't want to talk to anyone.

Unless they loved Bai Xuan just as much as she did!

"May I ask..."

Su Yue persisted, edging closer to Marée Alaira. "What should I call you?"

"Human, don't talk to me."

Marée Alaira folded her arms, her voice flat.

"But aren't we on the same side now?" Su Yue kept smiling. "Mr. Slime Mask asked you to stay close and protect me. Surely I should know your name?"

As she spoke, her fingertips brushed the Collar around her neck and pressed its heart-shaped button.

A faint pink glow spread across her starry eyes.

Yet even after Su Yue used her Superpower, Marée Alaira's attitude did not change in the slightest.

"You don't need to."

Marée Alaira gave a soft snort and turned her back on Su Yue.

Su Yue froze, unable to believe it.

She couldn't understand why her Superpower had barely worked on the man in the Slime Mask—and why this dragon woman was completely unaffected, too.

Why?

Her Star-Love Demon Eye could even influence an Intermediate Investigator. Why had it failed again and again lately?

And against this dragon woman, it had no effect at all!

After a long silence, Su Yue forced another smile. "Are you hungry? Could I get you something to eat?"

"No!"

"Then..."

"Human, are you trying to annoy me? Keep making noise and I might swallow you whole!"

"Eek!"

In the end, Su Yue gave up.

To her, Marée Alaira was like a flawless diamond. She couldn't find a single crack to work her way in.

"Thank you for the meal."

Xilin slowly rose and gently wiped the last glimmer of light from the corner of her mouth.

After three releases, her Source of Life was full once more, her energy restored to one hundred percent.

As for Bai Xuan—he was still alive. His head was just a little fuzzy...

Surprise flashed through Bai Xuan's eyes as he read Xilin's character quest.

Clearly, Aeria World was another world, separate from their own.

After all, most Anomalous Calamities in this world were beings from other worlds.

Naturally, Xilin's character quest took place in the world where she had once lived.

But travel between worlds had never been observable or controllable. Every crossing was one-way and determined by the "will of the world."

Now, however, it was obvious—

The World Book could travel between worlds!

"So that's it!"

Bai Xuan's eyes lit up. Only now was the World Book's true power revealing itself!

He glanced at the time. It was already two in the morning, and Xilin had just drained him dry.

Even so, he couldn't wait to visit Aeria World and see the place where Xilin had once lived.

And... to meet the Pope who had raised her.

"Xilin, we have a special task to complete." Before Bai Xuan had even finished speaking, he activated the Teleportation Array.

This time, though, the array glowed pale gold instead of pink.

"What task?"

Xilin looked puzzled.

"We're going to Aeria. Your world."

"Aeria..."

A complicated look passed through Xilin's eyes. It was as though she had a thousand things to say but couldn't find a place to begin.

"Is something wrong?" Bai Xuan asked when she fell silent.

"No."

Xilin shook her head gently. "It's just that my world is unusual. Master, please stay close to me, and don't touch anything in Aeria."

As she spoke, she put her Holy Robe and armor back on.

"All right..."

Bai Xuan nodded, though a faint unease stirred in his heart.

The moment they stepped through the golden Teleportation Array and arrived in Aeria, Bai Xuan's expression turned grave.

They stood inside a palace of the Church of Light, but the entire building looked frozen. Every living being, and even the structure itself, was sealed in a crystal-like substance.

Beyond the church stretched endless darkness, without a trace of light.

The whole world seemed to have stopped...

"How did this happen?" Bai Xuan looked around, unable to hide his shock.

"Super-Tier Magic—World Freeze," Xilin explained in a low voice. "The Witch of the Evernight's Eternal Night Ritual plunged my world into endless night and brought it to the brink of destruction."

"To save it, several Demigods burned through all their Divine Power and froze the entire world."

"The seal will only break when the destined moment arrives."

"World Freeze..." Bai Xuan was shaken.

He had never imagined that the Witch of the Evernight's evil magic had left Xilin's entire world frozen.

"Then how were you able to leave, Xilin?" Bai Xuan asked.

"Because..."

Xilin lowered her gaze, her voice heavy. "The Pope gave me the last of her Divine Power. That let me enter the chapter of destiny, answer the summons... and meet you."
