The security captain saw Jin Dapao emerge from the basement with Yue Xiaofei, followed by a group of Flying Tiger Squad Members.

The sight of them armed to the teeth made his scalp prickle.

"Young Master Gao, something terrible has happened!"

"The police broke in and took that Yue kid!"

"Who dares touch someone from the Gao Family in Jiangcheng? Have the security team stop them. I'll take responsibility for anything that happens!"

The security captain sounded close to tears. "It's the Flying Tiger Squad from the Provincial Public Security Department! Commissioner Jin seems to be leading them! They're all armed. Our men are no match for them!"

The moment he saw Jin Dapao's sharply chiseled face, his expression changed. Inwardly, he cursed Gao Tianxiong a thousand times over.

But it was too late to back out. He and the Gao Family were already in the same boat, so he could only grit his teeth and press on.

Hou Tao's smile froze, and anger flared inside him.

He was the Bureau Chief in Jiangcheng, after all. Jin Dapao was showing him no respect whatsoever.

"Commissioner Jin, that's not fair."

Hou Tao dropped his smile, his tone growing firmer.

"This is Jiangcheng, my jurisdiction. You came here to handle a case without so much as a word to me. Now I've received a report that someone is impersonating Provincial Public Security Department officers. I can't simply ignore it, can I?"

"Impersonating?"

Jin Dapao pulled out his Credential and thrust it in front of Hou Tao.

"Look closely!"

"I'm Jin Dapao from the Provincial Public Security Department!"

"I may not be your direct superior, but I still outrank you by half a grade!"

"I'm ordering you to take your men and leave immediately. Otherwise, you'll be obstructing law enforcement!"

"Commissioner Jin, rank is rank, and procedure is procedure."

Hou Tao's face stiffened as he put on an air of official impartiality.

"You can leave, but Yue Xiaofei must stay! Those are orders from Jiangcheng's leadership!"

Hou Tao gritted his teeth and gave the order. "Surround Black Tortoise Manor. Don't let so much as a fly out!"

Hundreds of his men sprang into action, forming a human wall.

The exit from Black Tortoise Manor was blocked completely.

"Commissioner Jin, why make things difficult?"

Hou Tao stood behind the wall of officers, a hint of menace in his voice. "We're all just doing our jobs. There's no need for bad blood."

"Bad blood?"

The sight made Hou Tao's confidence falter.

He had brought plenty of men, but they were ordinary officers.

They usually dealt with brawls at worst. When had they ever faced anything like this?

The Flying Tiger Team was the Provincial Public Security Department's ace unit, the best of the best!

If shooting started, his men would be slaughtered!

But he had gone too far to retreat now. Hou Tao could only hold his ground.
