At the entrance to Black Tortoise Manor.

The security captain spotted Jin Dapao emerging from the basement with Yue Xiaofei. A group of Flying Tiger Squad officers followed them.

The sight of them armed and ready to fire sent a chill down his spine.

He ducked behind an artificial rock, pulled out his phone, and called Gao Zisheng.

"Young Master Gao, something terrible has happened!"

"Police officers broke in and took that Yue kid away!"

At the victory banquet in the Gao Corporation Building.

Gao Zisheng's wineglass slipped from his hand and hit the floor with a crash.

"What did you say?"

His voice shot up, thick with furious disbelief.

"Who dares touch someone under the Gao Family's protection in Jiangcheng? Have the guards stop them. I'll take responsibility for anything that happens!"

"We can't stop them, Young Master Gao!"

The security captain sounded close to tears. "It's the Flying Tiger Squad from the Provincial Public Security Department! Commissioner Jin seems to be leading them! They're all armed. Our men don't stand a chance!"

"Commissioner Jin?"

Gao Zisheng froze as if struck by lightning.

Jin Dapao immediately realized the Gao Family had indeed called on its connections in Jiangcheng.

The Flying Tiger Squad officers answered as one. They tightened their grips on their guns, their eyes burning with resolve.

Dozens of police cars surrounded the entrance to Black Tortoise Manor.

Hou Tao stepped out of a car.

The moment he saw Jin Dapao's angular face, his expression changed. Inwardly, he cursed Gao Tianxiong a thousand times over.

That sly old fox Gao Tianxiong tricked me into coming here!

But there was no backing out now. He and the Gao Family were already in the same boat, so he had no choice but to press on.

"Commissioner Jin, what brings you here?"

Hou Tao forced a smile. "Why didn't you let me know you were coming? I could've given you a proper welcome."

"Cut the crap!"

Jin Dapao's voice was cold. "I'm carrying out official duties, arresting suspects in a kidnapping. What are you doing here with all these men, blocking my way?"

"We received a report that someone was impersonating officers from the Provincial Public Security Department."

Hou Tao gave an awkward chuckle, but his eyes flicked toward Yue Xiaofei. "I'm just following procedure and checking the situation."

"Finished checking?"

Jin Dapao looked up sharply and snapped, "Then take your men and get lost. Stop getting in my way!"

The smile froze on Hou Tao's face, and anger flared inside him.

He was the bureau chief in Jiangcheng, after all. Jin Dapao was showing him far too little respect.

"Commissioner Jin, that's no way to put it."

Hou Tao dropped his smile, and his tone grew firmer.

"This is Jiangcheng, my jurisdiction. You came to investigate a case without notifying me. I could overlook that, but I've now received a report of people impersonating Provincial Public Security Department officers. I can't just ignore it, can I?"

"Impersonating?"

Jin Dapao pulled out his credentials and slapped them down in front of Hou Tao.

"Take a good look!"

"I'm Jin Dapao from the Provincial Public Security Department!"

"I may not be your direct superior, but I outrank you by half a grade!"

"I'm ordering you to leave with your men, now. Otherwise, you're obstructing law enforcement!"

"Commissioner Jin, rank is one thing. Procedure is another."

The exit to Black Tortoise Manor was completely blocked.

"Commissioner Jin, why make things difficult?"

They quickly shifted formation, chambered rounds in their Assault Rifles, and aimed at the human wall blocking their path.

"Shit!"

"That Jin Dapao really is a fucking madman!"

At the sight, Hou Tao's confidence faltered.

He had brought plenty of men, but they were ordinary police officers.

Most days, the worst they dealt with was a brawl. They had never faced anything like this.

The Flying Tiger Squad was the Provincial Public Security Department's trump card, the elite of the elite!

If a fight broke out, his men would be slaughtered!

But he had no way to back down now. Hou Tao could only hold his ground.

Thud! Thud! Thud!
