Farewell, Charon

Inside Star Torch Academy.

It was the second day since Mo Bai and Mo Hei had returned to the Academy.

"Did you hear, Yaya? Our teacher said I don't have to go to class today. Instead, I get to show a new junior schoolmate around! I'm actually a little nervous..."

The moment Siglica saw Dania, she excitedly shared her news with her friend.

"Haah—Xixi, you told me about this on Feixun last night," Dania said, looking sleepy.

Clearly, she didn't find it nearly as exciting as her friend did.

She would have preferred to stay curled up in bed, but she had come because her friend had asked her to.

More importantly...

If she went with Siglica, she had an excuse to skip class.

Unlike her diligent friend, Dania wasn't particularly passionate about studying.

Perhaps it was simply her nature. Or perhaps it was because, unlike other people, she didn't feel she had something to carry on her shoulders.

Either way, she thought treating herself well mattered far more than studying herself ragged to please others or prove something.

That didn't mean she would use that view to dismiss her hardworking friend.

As Dania and Siglica chatted about the food in the Academy cafeteria and what interesting, adorable birds they had seen lately...

Approaching footsteps caught their attention, and both turned to look.

"A-are you the senior schoolmates Principal Losera mentioned?"

Mo Hei, wearing a white coat, asked the two of them timidly.

Losera had suggested that Mo Hei change into a school uniform, but for some reason, he seemed attached to the plain coat he wore.

So Losera hadn't pressed him. The Academy had no strict dress code anyway.
