Mo Bai met the exhausted Principal Losera in the Auditorium, where she admitted she felt guilty about his fugitive status. He reassured her that she had not caused what happened, and their conversation left him reflecting on how deeply she cared for her students.
Principal Losera stopped a movie to explain the drawbacks of being a Resonator to Mo Bai. After discussing how Resonators could be influenced by stray frequencies and their resonated objects, Mo Bai asked whether she had a particular reason for telling him this.
Mo Bai prepared to infiltrate a location at Losera’s request to interfere with the visitors judging Star Torch Academy. After learning the Academy’s Label Department was about to be abolished, he agreed to take Aemeath with him, though he worried she might go too far.
Mo Bai agreed to buy Star Torch Academy time when the Black Shores inspector arrived, then asked Losera to let him explore her memories because he was worried about her exhaustion. Losera accepted, and Mo Bai entered her Memory Hall alone.
Mo Bai entered Losera’s memories to find the source of her personal unease and met the hatless “Losera,” a version of her shaped by her own memories and self-image. After “Losera” accused the Principal of selfish motives, Mo Bai challenged her to explain, and she recognized his unusual strength of heart.
Mo Bai explored Losera’s memories and learned that guilt over a student’s death had made her consider yielding authority to the New Federation. He urged the real Losera to listen to her students and trust them before the reviewers arrived.
Mo Bai enlisted Aemeath to disrupt the New Federation's meeting and buy time during the Academy review, while Losera and the students tried to impress Gabriella. After Gabriella left, Losera apologized to Rover for how the review had gone.
Losera reflected on Mo Bai’s trust in her and realized he considered her a friend, prompting her to take action against the New Federation. Aemeath returned after stalling the New Federation group, while Mo Bai trusted Losera to protect the Academy and its students.
Mo Bai looked back on how the crisis at Star Torch Academy had been resolved and summoned his Shikigami to mark the end of his time in Lahai Luo. Mahoraga interrupted his group photo, and Mo Bai prepared to fight him.
Mo Bai concealed his fight with Mahoraga behind a barrier, then realized Mahoraga had picked a fight to communicate through combat. The chapter ended with Mahoraga asking why Mo Bai had allowed the fight despite having the authority to stop it.
Mo Bai tried to understand why Mahoraga had asked him why he went along with him, and explained that Mahoraga still reminded him of his lonely younger self. After Mo Bai lowered the barrier and considered including Mahoraga in a commemorative photo, someone shot out of Mahoraga’s shadow toward him.
Mo Bai and Mo Hei reunited on the hillside after Mahoraga interrupted Mo Bai’s photo with his Shikigami. Mo Bai asked Mo Hei to consider a future of his own, and Mo Hei teased him for repeating his earlier advice.
Mo Bai and Mo Hei admitted they wanted to stay together, while Mo Bai reflected on his future and his friendship with Rover. As he wondered whether Rover had forgotten her promise to tell him about her travels, the President of the Remnant Star Society appeared wearing Napomo's face.
The Remnant Star Society president’s clone delivered a final invitation to Mo Bai, offering to help restore Rover to his former peak. Mo Bai refused, and the clone chose to return despite knowing the president would likely destroy her.
Mo Bai surveyed Star Torch Academy and realized he had forgotten to prepare a graduation gift for Rover, who was leaving the next day. Aemeath found him before he could decide what to do, and he asked why she had come.
Mo Bai and Aemeath tried to come up with Graduation Gifts for Rover, but rejected each other’s ideas as unoriginal. Rover found them mid-argument and smiled at their familiar, heartwarming bickering.
The Rover learned that Mo Bai and Aemeath had been arguing over a heartfelt Graduation Gift for her, then reassured Aemeath about her coming departure from Lahai Luo. Mo Bai asked the Rover to fulfill her promise by telling him her story, and the chapter ended with them looking down at their friends together.
Mo Bai left his old dorm and joined Mo Hei at the Star Torch Academy gates for Rover’s graduation send-off. As Rover prepared to leave for the Black Shores with Mo Bai, Mo Hei, and Gabriella, Mo Bai reflected on leaving the Academy and learned more about Gabriella’s past.
Mo Bai and Rover said goodbye to their friends at Star Torch Academy before leaving Lahai Luo and joining the Black Shores. After Rover sent them a letter about Jinzhou, Mo Bai and Mo Hei chose it as the first stop on their journey together.
