At worst, it could trigger Spirit Power Reversal.
"Lingmeng... The worst-case scenario is happening."
Kotori did not turn toward Lingmeng. She kept her eyes on the screen.
Lingmeng understood what she meant. She scratched her cheek casually.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. It's my turn to step in, right?"
"Hmm... Where on earth is Shido?"
Tohka had left the aquarium. She frowned and looked around.
Normally, a trip to the bathroom took twenty minutes at most.
But for some reason, Shido had been gone for nearly an hour.
Worried that he might have fallen into the toilet and passed out, Tohka had come out to look for him.
After searching for a few minutes, she turned her attention to the other side of the street...
"How is it? Does it taste good?"
Origami looked expressionlessly at Shido, who sat across from her eating pasta.
"Yeah... It's not bad..."
"Good."
Shido answered between bites of pasta.
Origami gave a slight nod, then picked up her spoon and began taking small bites of the fried rice she had ordered.
To be honest, Shido had used up most of his energy sprinting away from the trio earlier.
Being able to sit down and eat a proper meal was exactly what he needed.
"Hm?"
Shido tilted his head when he noticed someone running toward them from across the street.
Running that fast while crossing a road was dangerous. Whoever that was clearly needed better supervision.
If he could, Shido would have liked to see who was responsible for that kid.
Then, just as that thought crossed his mind—
"Pfft—"
Shido suddenly sprayed pasta from his mouth.
The reason was simple. The person had come close enough for him to see her face.
—Tohka.
There was no doubt about it. That was Tohka.
