Bright sunlight still shone across the school, but the strange shadow made everything seem dark.

The weariness in her body was probably the shadow's doing, too.

Since Kurumi wasn't here, she had probably released the shadow through her powers.

Lingmeng now had some idea why Kurumi killed people and why she had targeted Shido and her.

It was all to gather Spirit Power.

She didn't know what Kurumi needed so much Spirit Power for, but Shido carried the Spirit Power of several Spirits, while Lingmeng herself had plenty to spare. Naturally, they had become Kurumi's targets.

Shido was probably facing off with Kurumi on the rooftop right now. Tohka and Origami must have gone there too because they were worried about him.

"But can those two really beat Kurumi...?"
