I Became a Spirit in Date A Live, but I Refuse to Date

While Origami was still studying it, Ryouko began explaining it like an NPC.

"This is the Dw-092 prototype delivered by DEM Corporation. Its full name is the Anti-Spirit Armament White Lycoris.

"It's equipped with two large laser swords, CleaveLeaf, and two 50.5-centimeter Magic Cannons, Blastalk.

"It also has eight interchangeable, high-capacity weapon storage units, RootBox. It's a mad machine that crams the firepower of an entire AST squadron into one person's hands."

"Why would they give us a machine like this?"

Origami turned to ask her.

Ryouko sighed helplessly.

"Strictly speaking, they didn't give it to us. It was originally meant for Mana.

"Mana is a Wizard sent by DEM, after all. But given her current condition, she probably won't be able to use it."

Ryouko thought of Mana, gravely wounded after her fight with Nightmare and still lying in a hospital bed. Her heart grew heavy.

If Element Make hadn't helped for some reason, Mana and the other students might have died there.

Ryouko had seen Mana's strength firsthand. Mana could defeat ten AST members, Origami included, single-handedly.

Yet against Nightmare, someone that powerful had been as helpless as a child.

And above Nightmare stood Element Make, the strongest Spirit.

It was hard to imagine how terrifying Element Make's true strength was.

Come to think of it, the fact that they had survived attacking Element Make before was a miracle.

Everything that had happened gave Ryouko a new understanding of the Spirits' power.

She understood more clearly than ever how difficult it was for a human to defeat one.

It wasn't that she distrusted DEM Corporation's products, but she still felt uneasy.

Origami looked back at White Lycoris.

Without changing her stance, she asked,

"If I use this, can I really defeat... no—kill a Spirit?"
