PS: Bad news—Miss Cleric's side story has hit writer's block, so it's been delayed for now.

Clang, clang, clang!

Eleanor's attacks came fast and furious. Amid Miss Cleric's sharp cries, Eleanora seemed to have every avenue of retreat cut off. Moonlight exploded at her sides, and the sword and hammer never left her breathing room, forcing a formidable rogue to barely hold her own with her whip sword. It was a hair-raising sight.

Eleanor's fierce assaults looked utterly overwhelming, leaving her only a hair's breadth from victory.

A hair's breadth, every single time.

Standing in the distance, Aaron raised an eyebrow. The strikingly handsome Viscount Salian, with his radiant face and eyes as vast as the distant sky, pondered the duel.

Clearly, Eleanora intended to give Eleanor an opportunity to show her strength. But had Eleanora deliberately engineered the current situation, or had it caught her by surprise?

Aaron couldn't be sure. He glanced at Samir and frowned when he saw the warlock still wearing his goofy, infuriating grin.

Although Eleanor had been practicing hard with two weapons lately, Miss Cleric was ultimately no expert in melee combat. Her current ferocity came partly from divine magic and partly from brute strength. Most importantly, however, Eleanor was a cleric of the Twilight Domain. Her high perception allowed her to detect even the faintest reactions.

That was terrifying for a rogue who relied on assassinations and ambushes.

Moreover, as a cleric of the Twilight Domain, Eleanor could see in darkness as clearly as in daylight. That meant she could easily master the techniques of Blind-Fighting.

Sometimes Blind-Fighting was utterly useless; at other times, it was a devastating weapon. Against invisible enemies, for instance, or when faced with Darkness, Blindness, or dim surroundings, it could completely negate an enemy's advantage in the dark.
