Through this war, the Half-Orc Sword Saint Doherty earned the status of an "honorary Cormyrean."
Lady Laeral announced that Doherty and the dozen or so Half-Orcs under his command would all be elevated to honorary Cormyrians, granting them official recognition. Doherty could now legally serve under Aaron. The Half-Orc Sword Saint had fought his way through the central army's cannon-fodder ranks from noon until night, racking up a full hundred kills. Even Arabel's local nobles had nothing to say against his military achievements.
In the Realms, although Orks faced widespread hostility, they had no sense of racial or national identity like people in the modern era of Aaron's previous life. All Orks were creations of Gruumsh, but they hardly regarded one another as "compatriots." Killing each other was an everyday occurrence, and they took pleasure in scalping one another.
