The Chaos Domain was a complex, chaotic place. Multicolored lights and bizarre structures proclaimed its disorder. The earth was an eerie blue, covered in countless eyes that stared at living creatures. Plants, animals, and buildings mingled together. At first glance, Aaron and Nastya seemed to have arrived in a valley, complete with mountains, water, lofty cliffs, and structures resembling towers.
But a closer look revealed its horrors. The towers were alive, strange flesh growing beneath their thin wooden boards. The mountains were alive too. As they moved ceaselessly, enormous, bloody maws lined with sharp teeth opened, swallowing entire forests and towers and spitting out nothing but wisps of dust. New daemons soon emerged from the shapes taking form in that dust.
The stream flowing past had nothing to do with clear water. It was more like a muddy landslide. Mouths, noses, and eyes frequently appeared on its murky surface, letting out agonized screams.
Even the earth writhed. Under the bombardment of Szass Tam's Meteor Swarm, it let out mournful cries of pain. The thin layer of blue soil was blasted apart, revealing layers of bodily tissue resembling streaky pork beneath it. The scattered fragments gave birth to new daemons. They came in all manner of strange shapes: some resembled people, some beasts, and others looked like objects with a pair of eyes forcibly attached. Making bizarre noises, they devoured one another, rearranging and recombining into new monsters.
Things they had never seen before.
The air was strange as well. Fires burned everywhere, yet the temperature was exceedingly low. Despite the roaring flames on the pillars of flesh growing from the ground, the already wintry temperature dropped further. Nastya felt the air crystallizing in her mouth, and her arms began to ache.
But Nastya no longer cared about any of that.
