PS: Three updates today! And congratulations to the one true god, Brother Li, on his fourth championship!
Aaron had yet to enter the city, but news of his return had already spread throughout Suzail. Gongs and drums clamored through Cormyr's streets, mingling with the roar of the crowds. The proud people of Suzail had all turned out to see the face of Cormyr, the pride of the Purple Dragon Kingdom.
Since Aaron's return had been rather sudden, the men who came to welcome him were Ian Hutson, Grand Inspector of the Purple Dragons, and Sir Jim Hack, a member of the regency Cabinet. Aaron had barely walked through the city gate holding Eleanor's little hand when the War Wizard apprentices on either side unleashed their cantrips. Crackling erupted everywhere, fireworks shot in all directions, and streamers even landed on Aaron's head.
The scene briefly descended into chaos. Aaron and the others could only wait until the ceremony ended before making their way into the city.
Amid the fireworks, Aaron recalled the goals he had set himself: first, restore greenery to the Anauroch Great Desert in the north and at least double Cormyr's territory; second, help the elves reclaim Myth Drannor and extend Cormyr's influence into the Moonsea; third, find a way to rescue Waukeen, the goddess of wealth.
Looking back, he had set his sights rather too high. Only after truly reaching legendary rank had he understood how difficult those goals would be to achieve.
But precisely because he had become legendary, Aaron now saw things in an entirely different light. If he truly intended to launch expeditions into Myth Drannor and the Anauroch Great Desert, he would either need Cormyr's full support to assemble an Expeditionary Force with the resources of the entire kingdom, or he would have to
