Cormyr's guardian dragon landed atop the Kingdom Council building. Big Dragon's White Beam of Destruction swept across the sky, slicing the nearby clouds in two.

Inside, Aaron's cousins Maximian and Robert charged into the council chamber with a large contingent of fully armed Silver Dragon Knights, followed by the Queen's Blade and Cormyr's Purple Dragon Knights.

Cormyr's great nobles were stunned by the sight.

What were Aaron and Alusair trying to do?

"Are you rebelling?!" Shavar, Grand Commander of the Purple Dragons, immediately rose and roared at the Purple Dragon Knights rushing inside. "Get out!"

The Purple Dragon Knights exchanged bewildered looks, then turned to Grand Inspector Ian. The Grand Inspector gave the Grand Commander an equally puzzled look, but once he saw that Shavar was serious, he signaled for the Purple Dragon Knights to withdraw.

The Purple Dragon Knights slowly backed out.

"Salian!" Shavar then shouted at Aaron. "Get your men out! What are you trying to do? Rebel?!"

Aaron raised an eyebrow. Seeing all three hundred-odd great nobles watching him, he casually gestured to his cousins. "Everyone, withdraw."

Maximian remained impassive, while Robert looked confused. Wasn't Lady Aegir's white beam supposed to be the signal for us to lead the Silver Dragon Knights in and take control of the council? Why are we being told to leave now?

Still, he obeyed Aaron and slowly backed out with the Silver Dragon Knights.

"Yuri," Alusair said as well. "It's all right. You're being too anxious."

And so the Queen's Blade withdrew too.

Peace seemed to return to the Kingdom Council, but what had just happened lingered in the minds of many great nobles and landed lords, refusing to fade.

"My apologies, everyone. Your excessive reactions gave those outside the wrong impression." Aaron stood before Alusair, his blue eyes utterly
