Leaving aside how Lolth had crashed, Aaron knew what awaited her now that she had fallen into the embrace of the Chaos Gods. Eilistraee knew, and naturally, so did Corellon.
More than ten years had passed since Aaron's awakening. By now, the Realms had gained a general understanding of the Chaos Gods, identifying three things they had in common.
Greater deities embodying concepts on a scale beyond imagination.
Ultimate evils whose reach encompassed almost every divine portfolio.
Ultimate enemies interested in the Realms and even the Great Wheel, but barred from entering.
The good gods were naturally wary of the Chaos Gods. The neutral gods did not want them disturbing the peace, while the evil gods feared they would steal their niches.
Corellon shuddered. He knew what fate awaited Lolth in the hands of the Chaos Gods. The Elven God-King looked at Aaron with a complicated expression, sighed softly, and waved a hand in dismay. "You're vicious."
"Not as vicious as Lolth." Aaron sounded utterly unconcerned. "Look at all my portfolios. Give them to any other deity, and they'd be neutral evil, if not outright chaotic evil. I'm true neutral for two reasons. First, Mama Selûne's guidance and the influence of a certain big golden fellow who wishes to remain anonymous. Second, Lolth was so insane and evil that I never wanted to become a lunatic controlled by my portfolios."
The Elven God-King had no answer. He remained silent for a full fifty-eight seconds before his expression suddenly turned cold. Instead of addressing Aaron again, he spoke to Eilistraee, who lay on the ground, still bleeding from the Crescent Blade piercing her chest. "Daughter, you're a good child. I know you willingly fell into the Abyss to redeem all the Drow who descended underground. Today, I will grant your wish."
