A conversation

The negotiations were over.

That very day, Kazan left the Land of Iron with the agreement, retracing his route alongside Shikaku Nara and the others.

They had barely left the Land of Iron when they came under attack again.

"Lord Kazan!"

Hizashi Hyuga spotted the attack immediately with his Byakugan and accelerated, moving in front of Kazan.

Countless shuriken and senbon shot toward them from every direction, carrying a chilling killing intent.

"Rotation!"

He roared and spun like a top, knocking away most of the projectiles.

But there were simply too many shuriken. They fell in a dense black rain.

Shikaku Nara was smart enough to leap away from Kazan at once.

Crackle!

Kazan stood where he was, haki surging as Crimson Lightning flared around him. It stopped every incoming shuriken, suspending them in midair.

He reached out, caught one of them, then flipped his hand and flicked the shuriken back.

Thwack!

"Urgh!"

A scream rang out in the distance amid a spray of blood.

"Keep yourselves safe."

With those words, Kazan vanished with the Body Flicker Technique.

By the time Shikaku Nara reacted, the shuriken suspended in the air had lost their support and clattered to the ground.

Then a violent shock wave erupted in the distance with a boom.

Shikaku Nara and Hizashi did not have to wait long before several bodies came flying toward them, landing at their feet.

Hizashi Hyuga swallowed hard. His Byakugan let him see farther, and much more clearly.

Kazan had slaughtered these attackers like chickens, killing most of them with a single punch. These last few had only survived because he had held back.

He had asked a few simple questions, then killed them when they failed to give him the answers he wanted.

Thud!

Kazan dropped from the sky and landed.
