"So beautiful!"
It was a sight Kurenai had never seen before. She had never known the night could be so beautiful.
Looking down from high above, she could see the bonfires in the main camp.
"Is that the village over there?"
"Yes, that's Konoha. I'll take you around."
Kazan flew high in the sky with Kurenai in his arms.
He kept his pace slow so she could take in every sight.
Finally.
Kazan carried her above the clouds, straight toward the bright moon.
"It's beautiful..."
Moonlight shone in her eyes as she reached out, as though trying to catch the moon.
"Is this the technique you got from the Rock Shinobi?" Kurenai asked.
"Yes. You know quite a lot."
"That's because I've been asking Dad about you."
She softly recounted everything she knew, one event after another.
From killing Hanzō the Demigod, to storming Iwagakure and killing a tailed beast, to fighting the Rock Shinobi until they surrendered.
Kurenai Yuhi's eyes filled with admiration.
"I never imagined the boy who saved me when I was little would become Konoha's great hero one day."
She had always believed Kazan would become an excellent ninja.
She simply had never imagined that the little boy who had saved her by punching a vicious dog away would one day rival the First Hokage.
"I want to look over there."
"Sure."
Kazan carried her through the night sky. Kurenai spread her arms, feeling like a bird flying free.
After an unknown length of time, they landed together on a mountaintop.
Kurenai Yuhi felt deeply content. This unusual date had let her briefly forget the war.
But the war was not over, and the pain it brought still remained.
She told Kazan, "Jing died."
"Huh?"
Kazan froze at her words.
Seeing the shock on his face,
