"What was that just now, Thor? What kind of new weapon was it?"
The Avengers were panting heavily over the comms.
Tony Stark stared at the scan data on his faceplate, his voice trembling. "It wasn't a weapon at all! The scanners show... a purely human energy signature!"
The moment he said that, the superheroes all froze.
What the hell?
Could a human body really unleash destructive power equivalent to dozens of Arc Reactors?
Tony felt the materialist scientific worldview he had built over the years shatter piece by piece, until not even a scrap remained.
The Chitauri soldiers swarming through the sky had thinned out somewhat.
Tony, Thor, and Steve seized the opportunity to land and hurried toward Raine.
"Thanks for lending us a hand, brother." Thor was very polite.
The Asgardians had always revered true powerhouses.
Judging by his ability to annihilate a warship in an instant, this young man's strength was definitely no weaker than Thor's.
"It was nothing. The matter's settled, so I need to get going."
Raine waved his hand, clearly having no intention of staying to chat.
The situation at the New York Sanctum was urgent. The army of Sorcerers was locked in a bitter fight against the alien fleet, and he had no time to dawdle here.
"Wait."
The faceplate of the gold-and-red armor sprang open, and Tony stared at him as if he were looking at a ghost. "How exactly did you do that? It's absolutely impossible for a human body to unleash energy on this level!"
A faint smile lifted Raine's lips. "No comment. Mr. Stark, I can only leave you with one sentence: the power of the human will far exceeds your imagination."
With that, Raine turned around decisively.
"Friend, wait!"
Steve hurriedly called after him.
Raine stopped and looked back. "Is there something else?"
Steve's eyes burned with sincerity as he invited him, "Join the Avengers! With power like that, you could definitely help us protect Earth!"
"Not interested."
Raine refused without hesitation. "I'm not nearly as noble as you people. Here's some advice: hurry up and capture Loki, then seal the Portal in the sky. The Chitauri haven't even brought out their real mothership yet, so don't celebrate too soon."
The moment his words fell.
The Avengers' expressions changed dramatically!
The mothership?!
A few battered landing ships had already driven them to the brink of death, nearly wiping them out completely.
If a larger Interstellar Mothership with even greater firepower descended, what could Earth possibly use to stop it?
While the group frantically racked their brains, Raine took several Medical Apprentices with him and plunged into the ruined streets.
He had to reach the New York Sanctum on foot.
That was because the Planetary Defense Array around the Sanctum had been fully activated, completely locking down the surrounding Spatial Nodes.
Unless they opened a short-range Portal and let people experience freefall, long-distance travel was simply impossible.
Along the way, large numbers of Chitauri grunts tried to block their path.
Raine completely transformed into an emotionless god of slaughter.
He waved both hands casually, and Golden Chains swept out like the scythes of death.
Any alien monster that dared stand in his way was instantly sliced into a carpet of minced flesh before it could even scream.
He hacked out a bloody path by force!
The Medical Apprentices following behind him had long since become numb to it.
They moved mechanically like puppets on strings, their minds completely blank.
After racing all the way there, the group successfully charged into the New York Sanctum.
Through the Transit Array, they crossed into the Mirror Battlefield in a single step.
"Raine, you finally made it!"
The moment they entered, Wong strode over to meet him.
The experienced Master looked utterly exhausted. His robes were even spattered with dark-red blood, clearly showing that he had just endured one brutal battle after another.
The fighting in the Mirror Dimension was far more savage than they had imagined.
"Sorry. I happened to rescue Master Carter on the way and lost a little time." Raine was polite.
Wong nodded approvingly. "Well done. But there's no time to catch our breath now. The front line is under heavy pressure and urgently needs powerful reinforcements. I'll have to trouble you with another trip."
"I'll do my duty."
Raine answered and suddenly pulled both hands apart.
Golden sparks flickered as a Portal opened directly in the heart of the battlefield.
The moment he stepped through the Portal.
A barrage of artillery fire intertwined with dazzling Magic of every kind, nearly blinding everyone.
The sky was packed with Chitauri aircraft.
More than a dozen Leviathans circled overhead, their main cannons firing relentlessly.
On the ground, the corpses of alien monsters were practically spread out like a carpet.
Not far ahead.
Dozens of Kamar-Taj Sorcerers were struggling to maintain a massive defensive shield, holding back the rain of lasers pouring down from above.
Raine's appearance attracted no attention from any of the aliens.
But his next move nearly scared the Sorcerers below out of their wits.
He actually rose straight into the air and flew beyond the protection of the Magic shield!
"Are you insane? Get back here!"
"There are high-energy lasers everywhere out there! Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
The Sorcerers screamed furiously, their eyes bulging with rage.
Raine ignored them completely, his cold gaze locking onto the Leviathans above.
"Vishanti Chains!"
He violently flung out one hand.
A dazzling golden beam tore across the sky.
Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!
A series of muffled impacts rang out.
Dozens of fully armed Chitauri elites were instantly pierced as one by a single slender golden thread!
The advanced alien alloy armor that others could barely scratch even after exhausting all their strength was as fragile in Raine's hands as a sheet of cheap toilet paper.
One move, and they were dead!
The shocking scene in midair was only the beginning.
Raine transformed directly into an emotionless meat grinder, his figure flashing like lightning as he darted back and forth among the alien aircraft filling the sky.
Thud! Thud!
Wherever golden light swept past, Chitauri grunts came crashing down headfirst like dumplings dropped from a pot.
The Sorcerers below, who had been struggling to hold the line, were preparing to hurl fireballs in retaliation when they suddenly discovered that their targets had split apart into fragments out of nowhere.
Gradually, everyone stopped what they were doing and raised their heads, staring blankly at the figure displaying overwhelming might in the sky.
"Ding!"
"Vishanti Chains have continuously slain over ten thousand enemy troops!"
"Skill level increased by two levels!"
"Battlefield Killing Intent has automatically fused into Magic. Proficiency acquisition for all offensive Spells has skyrocketed!"
"Scarlet Contract Chains have entered a frenzy after instantly drinking their fill of vast amounts of blood!"
"Skill level increased automatically!"
Hearing the Electronic Voice ringing out repeatedly beside his ears, a flicker of wild joy flashed through Raine's eyes.
The Chitauri were truly generous!
They had crossed countless star systems from countless light-years away just to come to Earth and deliver experience packs to him!
Meanwhile, the Kamar-Taj army on the ground was completely dumbfounded.
Even now, they still had no idea what had happened.
Who was that ferocious man slaughtering everything in the sky?
Most outrageous of all, when had the Vishanti Chains gained such absurd destructive power?
Could the spellbooks they recited every day have been counterfeit?
The magical worldview of over ten thousand people was thoroughly shattered that day.
At the same time, inside the Command Tent in the rear.
"Pfft—!"
Hamir, the old Sorcerer in charge of logistics, sprayed the hot tea he had just sipped three yards away.
Several Masters coordinating the entire battle stared blankly at the Magic Screen, their minds completely empty.
