"Chitauri, you dare run wild on Earth?"
Raine's eyes filled with killing intent.
"Vishanti Chains!"
He flicked one hand, and a golden rope suddenly drilled out of thin air.
At first glance, aside from being slightly thicker than an ordinary hemp rope, it looked completely unremarkable.
The alien grunts opposite him did not take the shabby rope seriously at all. They swept their guns wildly while emitting shrill cries, seemingly provoking him with all their might.
Raine could not be bothered to waste words. He abruptly flicked his wrist.
The golden chains expanded violently in the wind!
In an instant, they transformed into a long, slender golden reaper's scythe that swept across the air.
The thread sliced rapidly along the ground, forcibly shaving off a layer of even the hard asphalt.
Buzz!
A muffled engine abruptly stopping rang through the air. It was as though someone had pressed the pause button on the surroundings.
Hundreds of Chitauri soldiers who had been firing wildly suddenly froze in place.
The Leviathan descending from the sky also came to an eerie halt in midair.
Crack!
A crisp metallic snap shattered the silence.
The hundred-meter-long alien beast suddenly shifted out of alignment at its center. With a thunderous boom, it broke into two pieces, turning into debris that smashed brutally into the street below.
At the same time, the hundreds of alien soldiers on the ground split into several pieces and scattered everywhere.
Their foul bodily fluids instantly stained the ground red.
The noisy district fell completely silent. Only Raine remained standing proudly.
"Ding!"
"Vishanti Chains instantly killed more than one hundred targets."
"Skill level automatically increased!"
The System Notifications chimed crisply and pleasantly.
Raine withdrew his Magic, and that familiar bashful smile appeared on his face again.
But the several medical Sorcerers standing behind him had already suffered complete mental breakdowns.
Those apprentices spent every day in the rear memorizing medical books. When had they ever seen such a brutal, bloody slaughterhouse?
Their legs went weak one after another, and they collapsed onto the ground.
Carter's mental fortitude was much stronger. After all, he had fought on the front lines before.
But even as he stared at the corpses scattered across the ground, the old Sorcerer still drew a sharp breath at Raine's brutality.
He had gone completely berserk!
What he found even more unbelievable was the Spell Raine had used.
If he had not seen wrong, the one that had just displayed such power was clearly the Vishanti Chains!
A purely auxiliary restraining Spell!
It had been developed by Master Hamir specifically to bind and capture multiple enemies quickly.
To maximize its numbers, the Spell had sacrificed all its offensive power. When it struck a person, it was even weaker than an ordinary beam of light.
But could someone explain what had just happened?
That was an aerial landing ship from the Chitauri army!
Its armor was made of advanced cosmic alloy. Even a weakened version of the landing ship could withstand the main cannon fire of most galactic civilizations.
Why could a magical rope designed specifically for binding people slice through an alien warship, crew and all, as easily as cutting through butter?
Looking at the smooth, level cuts in the armor, Carter was completely numb.
It was not that the alien warship was too fragile.
It was that Raine was too abnormal!
He was practically not human!
The old Sorcerer even began to wonder whether the Sorcerer Supreme could pull off something so outrageous personally.
An auxiliary chain with no offensive power had instantly killed more than a hundred elite alien soldiers and an interstellar warship.
It was as if a god had descended.
Carter suddenly realized that he might have brought out a monster destined to become a legend in Kamar-Taj's history!
The Raine before him would not be inferior to any of the grandmasters throughout history.
"This kid is simply a freak."
To produce such world-destroying power with a single auxiliary Spell left Carter shaking his head repeatedly.
A strong urge to retire rose in his heart. There was truly no way to keep making a living as a Sorcerer.
Comparing people could drive one to despair; comparing goods could make one throw theirs away.
With the same Spell, someone else could turn it into a nuclear bomb carpet-bombing the ground, while his own version was not even as good as a firecracker.
Why bother practicing Magic in the future?
The old Sorcerer was in the midst of frantically questioning his life when two more Leviathans flew over from the distant sky.
On the back of one of the beasts, Hulk was smashing, looting, and burning like mad. Unfortunately, the alien armor was too thick, and he could not damage its core power system at all.
On the other warship, Thor's entire body flickered with blue lightning, but the light was growing weaker and weaker. Vast numbers of Chitauri soldiers were swarming over him like ants.
Raine sighed and prepared to continue clearing the battlefield.
Compared to the weed-whacking game in the movie, the Avengers were fighting far too miserably in reality.
The alien landing ships not only possessed terrifying firepower but were also packed with Bio-Armies.
Thanos could rely on them to sweep across the universe. He clearly had some real ability.
On the Avengers' side, aside from Tony, Hulk, and Stark, the others did not even qualify to scratch the warships.
Even those three main combatants were close to reaching their limits.
Thor had already been completely buried beneath the alien grunts.
"Thor, need a hand?"
Tony's frivolous voice came through the communication channel.
"Stark, this is no time for jokes!"
Thor gasped heavily.
He let out a furious roar, and the Divine Power within him suddenly erupted. Dozens of aliens were blasted away on the spot.
But in the next second, even more monsters surged forward one after another.
Thor did not even have the chance to curse again before he was plunged back into a bitter struggle. Fortunately, his divine body was tough enough that the Chitauri's junk guns could not penetrate his defenses.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A series of small missiles exploded across the Leviathan's back.
Thor climbed to his feet, covered in dust.
"No need to thank me!"
The gold-and-red armor flashed past beside him.
However, the warship's densely packed cannons instantly locked onto Iron Man.
Bang! Bang!
Several high-energy lasers struck with pinpoint accuracy.
Tony was blasted away and smashed hard into the ruins of a nearby building.
Fortunately, the armor's advanced shock-absorption technology was tough enough. Otherwise, that impact would have killed him.
"Damn it, we have to take down the big things in the sky."
"Bad news. Another one just came out!"
Steve's voice rang through the channel.
"Fuck!"
The entire Avengers team began cursing loudly over the channel.
They had not even dealt with the two in the sky, and another one had arrived?
Were they not going to be allowed to live?
Fortunately, the Portal seemed to have reached its limit and stopped spitting out more warships.
"Thor, can you take Hulk and bring down one of them first?" Steve shouted.
"I'll do my best!"
Thor gritted his teeth and desperately squeezed the Divine Power from within his body.
But his body was simply too heavy.
He could not force out even a drop of surplus strength.
"No... I've reached my limit. I need to catch my breath."
Thor's voice was filled with deep helplessness.
Hearing the entire sentence, the Avengers' hearts turned ice-cold.
Even their strongest combatant had run out of steam. They might truly be finished here today.
Once the beasts completely spread out, New York would absolutely be flattened.
The mortal army could not even penetrate their defenses!
What were they supposed to do?
Just as despair filled everyone's hearts, a dazzling golden light suddenly flashed before their eyes.
Time around them seemed to have been pressed to a halt.
Aside from Hulk, who continued smashing away recklessly, the entire world suddenly fell silent.
Then—
The Leviathan beneath Hulk's feet split silently in two.
Having lost his footing, Hulk flailed wildly as he fell toward the ground.
The warship in front of Thor also shattered with a thunderous crash, transforming into a rain of steel debris.
"What happened?" Thor held up his hammer, his face blank with confusion.
"A highly compressed energy weapon."
Tony stared at the holographic screen inside his armor, his voice trembling. "This energy reading... it's... it's absolutely insane!"
The armor's detection-system alarms flashed wildly, and the energy index instantly exceeded its maximum limit!
According to the data racing across the motherboard, if the golden light that had just cut through the sky were converted into electrical energy, its instantaneous output would be enough to match ten Arc Reactors overloading simultaneously!
Tony stared at the panel, forgetting even how to breathe.
What kind of outrageous thing was this?
His reactor could output three billion joules per second!
It could easily supply all the electricity used by a major city!
In other words, if the strike that had just cleaved the warship were converted into electricity, it could power the entire United States at full capacity for several months!
The numbers were absurd beyond belief!
One unbelievable revelation after another completely shattered the technological genius's pride.
