One More Hunt, Then We Stop

"Just in time!"

Yan Tieyi did not panic. With a low shout, his muscles suddenly tightened, and a tremendous surge of blood-and-qi power erupted from within him.

His broadsword gleamed coldly beneath the moonlight, a faint iron-black sheen spreading over its blade.

Clang—!

The broadsword swept across, cleaving through Red-Faced Fox's illusion. Its momentum unbroken, the blade continued toward the demon's true body.

Terrified, Red-Faced Fox flickered into several afterimages and retreated.

But the broadsword's blade aura still slashed across the demon's shoulder, shearing away a great swath of flesh.

"Aah—!"

Red-Faced Fox let out an agonized shriek. The shoulder wound ran deep enough to expose bone, and blood poured from it.

Yan Tieyi did not pursue. Instead, he turned and stamped down on the bluestone paving.

Boom!

The slab shattered, sending fragments flying. He used the force to leap into the air, evading the poisonous mist Green Snake Demon spat at him.

His broadsword traced an arc through the air and cleaved down at Stone Bull Demon below.

Stone Bull Demon was mid-charge and had no time to dodge, only to lower that massive head and meet the blade with both horns.

Clang—!

A tremendous crash rang out, sparks flying everywhere.

The blow drove Stone Bull Demon several steps backward, leaving a deep slash in each horn. Blood trickled down them.

"Roar—!"

Stone Bull Demon bellowed and was about to advance, only to find Green Snake Demon, cleaved in two, hurtling straight back toward the bull.

"This one's trouble! Retreat!"

Blood Bat Demon's voice came from above, tinged with alarm.

The bat hovered above the rooftops without approaching, eyes full of wariness while watching the fight below.

That single stroke had cut Green Snake Demon in half. Blood Bat Demon had seen it clearly.
