As he turned around, it vanished.
He had thought he'd found an interesting machine, but now it seemed to be nothing more than a food synthesizer.
He was a cook, after all. He couldn't stomach food like that.
"It certainly isn't delicious." Shaka nodded. "Vegapunk threw this machine together so he wouldn't waste time. As long as it makes food and gives him the energy his body needs, that's enough."
"Whether it tastes good comes second."
"But York has been unhappy with it for a while. He's in the Laboratory improving it now. I expect it'll make better food once he comes out."
"York?"
A-Luo looked puzzled. "Vegapunk's sixth satellite, the one Lilith mentioned? I remember he represents 'desire.'"
"Mm." Shaka nodded. His voice was calm when he spoke of York, though a trace of displeasure slipped through. "All that guy does is sleep and eat, like a pig. I have no idea why the original made him."
Why?
To eat, sleep, and go to the bathroom for all of them, of course!
Shaka knew that, but having a glutton on the science team still bothered him a little.
"Uh..."
No one knew how to respond to Shaka's complaint.
"All right, enough of that. Let's go see Dr. Vegapunk."
Kuta gestured for Shaka to lead them up.
"Yes, sir." Shaka nodded and led everyone toward the Town Center.
Along the way, they saw countless strange and fascinating machines.
Most were clearly still under construction, though, so despite their curiosity, they didn't linger as they had at the food synthesizer.
Beyond the town stood an enormous machine that covered a vast area and was connected to a maze of pipes.
At its center, a tall chimney sent white clouds billowing upward.
"Island Cloud?"
Kuina looked from the clouds to the egg-shaped
