Not only did they believe themselves to be gods, they actually lived like gods among mortals. They looked down on all ordinary people, treating them as slaves and servants.

They were also the greatest slave owners in the world.

They could take anyone they fancied as a spouse, then throw them away once they grew bored.

Presumably, that was how Lia had caught a Celestial Dragon's eye.

Kuta looked at Bada, raised his hand, and took a drink.

"Well, go on! If a Celestial Dragon had taken Lia, how did you rescue her?"

Bada came back to his senses. He paused, then continued, "By the time I heard the news, the Celestial Dragon's ship had already set sail."

"But he was out on a pleasure trip, so the ship wasn't moving very fast. I used the transformation ability that came with my Devil Fruit to sneak aboard."

"By the time I found Lia, it was already too late."
