Enel was no fool. After those two wildly different attacks, he had figured out that his opponent was testing something.
Adrian stood his ground, Twig in hand, and said coldly, "Use the ability you used to dodge the people of Birka. That wasn't an unconscious instinct. It's a skill you can control!"
Enel was still digesting those words when he saw the Twig whip toward him again.
Caught off guard once more, Enel took another bloody welt across his body. He clenched his teeth and sucked in a sharp breath.
Adrian's expression remained cold. There was no need to be gentle with someone who had already awakened Observation Haki. He would beat Enel until he could at least use it in a rudimentary way!
About half an hour later.
The Twig had shredded Enel's blue short-sleeved shirt, and dark welts covered his upper body.
But the excitement inside him kept growing.
Another strike came.
A red glint flashed in Enel's eyes. He sensed the precise path of the Twig slicing through the air, twisted aside, and dodged it.
Then Enel bent over, braced his hands on his knees, and gasped for breath.
"Not bad. It seems you've recognized that ability and can use it, however roughly, in a fight."
Adrian nodded slightly and stuck the Twig into the Island Cloud beneath his feet.
"That ability is called Observation Haki. Of course, on Sky Island, you probably call it Mantra."
"Hahaha!"
Enel burst into delighted laughter, his joy plain to see.
Suddenly, he dropped to his knees and bowed deeply.
"Master!"
"Master?" Adrian raised an eyebrow and shook his head with a hint of disdain. "I'm not your master. You're far too weak."
Enel looked up, his eyes blazing. "Master, you must be lying, right?"
