"I suggest Admiral Sengoku continue the pursuit. No matter where White Ghost flees in the New World, we must do everything we can to send him to Impel Down and ease the Celestial Dragons' anger."
Sengoku replied flatly, "White Ghost can fly."
The CP0 agent immediately looked at Borsalino.
"Oh~"
Borsalino had just received preliminary treatment. When he noticed the agent's gaze, he let out a pained groan.
"My injuries... I doubt they'll heal in less than a year or so..."
Fleet Admiral Kong looked at Borsalino apologetically. This rising Marine star, this monstrous Vice Admiral, had just been treated as a disposable pawn by the World Government. Of course he felt betrayed.
Kong had once heard a saying about why employees quit: either they weren't paid enough, or they'd been treated badly.
"Borsalino," Kong said at once, "you may take paid leave until you've fully recovered."
"Oh?~" Borsalino's eyes shifted, and his tone turned peculiar. "Fleet Admiral Kong, I think my injuries just got worse. They might take three to five years to heal~"
But while Kong cared about the injured, he was no pushover.
Those rock-hard muscles and his "Steel Bone" reputation had been earned one punch to a pirate's head at a time!
"One year at most!" Kong said bluntly. "Keep talking and I'll cut it in half!"
"Fleet Admiral Kong's attitude is really scary~"
After that bit of nonsense, Borsalino quit while he was ahead. The Marines, after all, had shown no intention of abandoning him.
The CP0 agent looked back at Sengoku. "Then..."
"That's enough. Someone else will be assigned to deal with White Ghost."
Kong cut the agent off.
"And don't forget, the Marines aren't responsible for upholding the Celestial Dragons' dignity. Besides, White Ghost isn't the only one causing trouble on the seas
