Obito's words struck like a thunderbolt.
They exploded in Madara's mind.
Madara froze on the spot and demanded in disbelief.
"Tampered with? How is that possible?!"
Obito shrugged and said.
"It's certainly possible. Think about it. Nearly a thousand years have passed since the Sage of Six Paths left that stone tablet."
"If I could cheat my way past the restrictions the Sage of Six Paths placed on it and read everything on the tablet..."
"Then someone else might have used special means to bypass those restrictions and alter its contents."
Madara's face darkened so much that, for a moment, he looked just like Black Zetsu.
"This is all just your own speculation, isn't it?"

Madara still refused to believe that his lifelong pursuit was a lie someone else had fabricated!
"You're trying to shake my resolve to carry out the Eye of the Moon Plan!" Madara said coldly.
Obito burst into wild laughter.

"But I really did see several unusual 'traces' on that tablet. They definitely weren't all left by the same person."
Listening to Obito's wild laughter, Madara unconsciously felt the urge to laugh along.
Yet he couldn't bring himself to laugh, so the corners of his mouth merely twitched.
