They were already very close to the great plains. A nearby lake nourished a vast stretch of land, turning the area into something of a paradise for Grass-type Pokémon.

Along the way, Dian got to see exactly what a Vileplume was.

Its enormous red petals, dotted with white spots, completely sheltered its indigo, bulb-shaped body like a natural parasol. It had to be incredibly lazy, though. Anyone carrying such enormous petals on their head would hardly feel like moving.

But Dian had absolutely no intention of approaching such a dangerous creature. Rings of yellow powder surrounded it, and that stuff did far more than simply paralyze you.

It was also a terrifying allergen that could easily trigger an allergic reaction, throwing your body's internal balance into chaos and leaving you collapsed on the ground.

Especially when Vileplume moved, great billowing clouds of yellow powder poured from its yellow flower bud, spreading everywhere like a carpet laid out for a king's procession. It certainly lived up to its imposing presence.

"This is Vileplume and Gloom territory," Azisa explained as they walked. "They generally won't attack humans on their own, but they'll get frightened if you come too close, so they instinctively release spores to drive you away."

As she spoke, she actually reached out and gently touched a small Vileplume
