"What I was thinking was—" Roland paused in thought. "Didn't the League of Assassins plant their flag in Gotham City? Could those two end up fighting first?"
"Could they?" Batman thought it over and realized it wasn't entirely out of the question.
The League of Assassins believed humanity was steeped in sin and had to be wiped out, and Gotham City, that city of sin, was their first target.
The Court of Owls used its power and influence to control Gotham's politics, ruling the city according to its own vision and keeping it dark and depraved to achieve its sinister goals.
The two sides were incompatible no matter how you looked at it. Both the Court of Owls' Talons and the League of Assassins' assassins excelled at assassination. The Court's Talons were immortal thanks to electrum, while the League had the Lazarus Pit, which could also bring people back to life.
If they went at it, it would certainly be quite a show.
"How about I go tell Ra's al Ghul that to destroy humanity's sins, he has to destroy Gotham first, and to destroy Gotham,
"he has to destroy the Court of Owls first?" Roland mused. "With the League of Assassins' capabilities, if they fought the Court of Owls,
"there's really no telling who would win."
"Ra's al Ghul isn't going to fight them just because you say so. He's not stupid."
"But he is crazy. Besides, the Court of Owls and the League of Assassins have fundamentally conflicting ideologies. Getting them to fight wouldn't be hard."
"If they went to war, the situation could easily spiral out of control. I'd rather deal with the Court of Owls myself," Batman said. "Don't contact Ra's al Ghul."
"If you insist... fine." Roland shrugged. "Call me when it's time to fight.
