The Flash pulled a man out. He wore a red shirt emblazoned with a huge yellow lightning bolt and tight blue jeans, a metal dish-shaped helmet with small golden wing ornaments, and red running shoes that also sported wings. Roland recognized him at once. "Jay Garrick?"

Jay Garrick, the original Flash, had accidentally knocked over a flask of chemicals in his laboratory. Inhaling the fumes had given him extraordinary reflexes and speed.

"Where am I?" Jay Garrick asked. Countless bolts of crimson-gold lightning shot from his body, crossing time and space toward different people who were about to become Flashes.

The Roland Universe.

"Barry's not here?" Wally West, the nephew of Barry's girlfriend, slipped into Barry's laboratory. Just then, lightning struck a chemical cabinet, splashing chemicals onto Wally. "What?"

The Wasteland Universe.

"I don't know what's going on, but something pretty incredible seems to have just happened." The Flash had a vague sense of where that lightning had gone. He stared at Jay Garrick in astonishment. "Who... are you?"

"Barry, don't you recognize me?" Jay Garrick froze. "...Has your memory been affected too?"

"The Barry you know must be the one from this world," The Flash said. "I've never met you in our world."

"No, we have met. When you came to this world." Jay Garrick sighed.

"Huh?" The Flash was baffled, realizing this might have something to do with his memory problems. "What's going on?"

"I don't know much about it, but I'm almost certain Lex Luthor is involved." Jay Garrick rubbed his temples. The speed force storm had left his mind somewhat muddled as well.

"Let's talk later. Someone seems to have their eye on us," Batman told them.

Before Batman finished speaking, a shadow flew out of Superman's battle in the sky, cutting through the speed force
