"You actually knew about that?" Roland blinked. Lex Luthor really did know his stuff, if he was aware of even these things.

"I'm not just hiding from them here," Lex Luthor said. "I've gathered plenty of intelligence about this place, too."

"Just what I'd expect from you—" Batman nodded. "What else do you know?"

"Far too much, but this isn't the time to discuss it. We have more pressing things to do," Lex Luthor said.

"What things?"

"There's a beastman Luthor who's lost his mind. I'm planning to kill him," Lex Luthor said. "Leaving that thing roaming around is an embarrassment to all us Luthors. Since you're here anyway, you can help. I'm worried that killing him and gaining his power might make me stupid, too."

"I can handle that for you," Roland said. "Where is he?"

"Waller Fortress."

"So that's where—" The Joker Lantern let out a bizarre cackle.

"You seem to know something," the Final Knight said.

"Waller Fortress was supposed to be the last bastion. A base powered and protected by Nuclear Man," the Joker Lantern said. "It was a refuge for the surviving great minds: Holt, Kyle, Ivo, Sivana. It was also a home for good people, soldiers willing to fight against Luthor and against the tide of the world."

"Sounds like it was the final stronghold."

"Exactly. It was a place full of potential, blessed by the avatars of the Red and the Green. It should have been a bastion of science, nature, and human will—where humanity could give birth to new heroes, better heroes." The Joker Lantern burst out laughing. "You'll understand when you see it."

Whatever Waller Fortress had once been intended for, it was now Animal Man's domain.
