Mingyou stayed outside the cake shop until around four in the afternoon. Shali left first to take care of something, then Carmine and Kieran said they wanted to look around the tournament venue. In the blink of an eye, only Mingyou and Akari remained.

"Let's go too. We can drop our backpacks at the hotel, then take a look at the venue."

When Mingyou suggested they stay together, Akari agreed without much hesitation. They were a couple; there was no need to be so shy anymore. Besides, it wasn't as if they had never stayed together before.

Then she noticed Miraidon racing around with Snivy in pursuit after stealing some cake. Her interest piqued again, she asked eagerly.

"Hey, can I ride him?"

"You have to give him a Sandwich first."

"Haha, he's pretty cute!"

"Cute..."

Mingyou started to speak, then stopped. He thought of Miraidon chasing Koraidon through the Network World, and of his standoff with Zekrom that had knocked out power across Unova. Cute wasn't the word for him, was it?

Cool was more like it!

A little later, Akari bought several bags of Fast-Food Sandwiches from the cake shop. After feeding Miraidon, she successfully climbed onto his back, her face full of curiosity. It was nothing like riding Wyrdeer. It really felt like riding a bike.

"Let's take him for a quick spin!"

"Miller!"

Whoever gave him Sandwiches got to call the shots.

Ogerpon climbed aboard and sat behind Akari. Just as Mingyou was about to get on, the engine roared. Akari and Miraidon became a streak of lightning and vanished down the street. Mingyou stood frozen, one hand still outstretched.

"I didn't get on..."

He murmured, then came to his senses and ran a couple of steps after them. Staring in the direction they had disappeared,
