When Mingyou and Akari emerged from the competition venue, Officer Jenny and the International Police were already waiting outside because of Team Rocket's sudden attack. Looker, whom they hadn't seen in a while, promptly took them away.
Officially, it was for their protection and to investigate the attack. It also spared Mingyou the post-match media interviews. He would rather drink tea at the station than spend hours being stopped on the street and peppered with questions.

Mingyou spread his hands helplessly.
Looker smiled and stood. "You can go. Someone got photos of those Team Rocket members. I know the three of them, and they're not important members. They probably did come to catch Ogerpon while she was weakened."
"You know them?"
"Yes. I worked with them against Team Galactic in the Sinnoh Region. They helped me a great deal and even saved my life. It's a shame they escaped when I tried to arrest them afterward."
Looker briefly recounted his history with the Team Rocket Trio, chatted with Mingyou a little longer, then waved them out.
