Background / History
Zhu Zhuqing has lived amid a longstanding rivalry with her sister. Ning Chengyi’s care later gives her an unfamiliar sense of security, contrasting with the insecurity of that upbringing. She also once owned a beloved kitten; after its death, she kept the small bell it had worn 25 26.
Capture and Rescue
Zhu Zhuqing is one of two women held captive by Evil Soul Masters near Suotuo City. Ning Chengyi kills their escorts and frees them. Afterward, she helps the Sword Venerable’s grieving beloved before returning to the forest. When she encounters Ning swimming that night, she introduces herself and thanks him, but his teasing turns the reunion into an embarrassed argument 21 22 23.
Determined to punish her captors, Zhu Zhuqing attacks the Blue Silver Gang’s camp alone. She kills several members but is surrounded by a force numbering at least fifty. Her Hell Spirit Cat abilities allow her to escape, though she is badly wounded and pursued by two Soul Grandmasters. Ning ambushes and kills the pursuers before they can sexually assault her, then carries her to shelter, treats her injuries, and lends her his clothes 23 24.
Campaign Against the Blue Silver Gang
After initially questioning Ning’s treatment of her wounds, Zhu Zhuqing gradually accepts his help. They fish and eat together while waiting for her injuries to heal. She learns his real name and agrees to follow his plan to attack when the gang’s patrols are tired 24 25.
The pair repeatedly strike the camp and retreat, preventing its members from resting. Once the gang is exhausted, they launch a final assault. Ning kills the chief, and together they eliminate the remaining members. Before departing, Zhu Zhuqing gives Ning her deceased kitten’s bell, tells him to return it at their next meeting, and calls him her “little kitten” 25 26.
Shrek Academy
At Shrek’s entrance, Zhu Zhuqing sees a blond man bullying others, recalling the life she previously endured. During admission, she rebuffs Xiao Wu’s friendly introduction and passes the entrance test with two Yellow Soul Rings. The blond man, Dai Mubai, offers to escort her inside, but she repeatedly rejects him. His continued pursuit deepens her contempt for him and the academy 27 28.
Despite her outward coldness, she continues thinking about Ning Chengyi, privately calling him “Ning Kitten.” A thought about Suotuo City gives her an idea connected to finding him again, though no reunion is shown in the supplied chapters 28.
