Lucius lowered his head and said nothing more. With matters like this, the more he said, the more mistakes he could make. As long as the Dark Lord wasn't planning to kill him on the spot, that was good enough.

Voldemort glanced at this man, whose loyalty was more than sufficient but whose intelligence and abilities were merely average, and couldn't help thinking of his prized pupil. By the time that boy reached Barty Crouch Jr.'s age, he would surely be an outstanding wizard, worthy of serving as Voldemort's right-hand man.
"Master, your servant is willing to give you everything." Lucius hurried to declare his loyalty as well.
Voldemort's scarlet eyes gleamed. "I have yet to recover. The first obstacle is how to break into the Department of Mysteries. The second is who will use the Time-Turner."
At that, neither Lucius nor Barty Crouch Jr. dared to offer any guarantees. Breaking into the Department of Mysteries was no simple task. If the Dark Lord had already returned, his power and influence would have been sufficient. But the whole point of breaking into the Department of Mysteries now was to bring him back.
