The first Hogsmeade day of April had arrived.
Will made a rare appearance in Hogsmeade. He had been so busy lately that he was nearly dizzy with exhaustion, so he had taken some time off today.
Along Hogsmeade's streets, shopkeepers were busy tallying the extra income the Triwizard Tournament had brought in.
Madam Rosmerta of the Three Broomsticks was planning to order another batch of Firewhisky. Fred and George had cleared out the shelves at Zonko's Joke Shop several times, while the new robes at Gladrags Wizardwear always sold out as soon as they arrived.
There was always a long line at the Honeydukes candy counter, and a few hooded wizards could always be found speaking in low voices in a corner of the Hog's Head.
And, of course, there were crowds of students—
"I don't feel like Butterbeer today. Why don't we go to the restaurant for lunch?" Sylvia said with a smile, her arm linked through Will's.
"Sure. Whatever you like." Will smiled warmly, much to Sylvia's satisfaction. Few people ever saw his softer side.
They sat down by the window, and Will handed Sylvia the menu.
The Echoing Fireplace Restaurant was much quieter than the Three Broomsticks. The fire burned brightly, filling the room with warmth.
Several moving paintings hung on the walls, all depicting Hogsmeade in years past: snow-covered streets, a Harvest Festival market, and the Shrieking Shack at sunset.
An old gramophone in the corner played a gentle violin piece. Sunlight streamed through the glass, casting warm patches of light across the wooden tables.
"You've lost weight lately." Sylvia took the menu and looked at him closely.
"Have I?"
"You have." She reached out and poked his cheek. "Look in a mirror. There's hardly any flesh left on your face."
