"Thanks, Professor, I love it," Will said sincerely.

Gentle light twinkled in Dumbledore's blue eyes.

"Consider it my return gift. Only you would send me socks for Christmas, and they had some books I'd collected over the years inside," Dumbledore said, "along with some of my notes and manuscripts, which should be useful to you."

Hearing this, a wave of joy rose in Will's heart—those were Dumbledore's manuscripts.

Dumbledore patted his shoulder. "You've had a hard time lately, but I'm afraid the days ahead will only be harder; this trunk is just a small token of my appreciation."

He paused and added, "This trunk is specially made. It can shrink down to the size of a palm and has a Levitation Charm added to it. Its weight will always remain just as it is now. Of course, don't go stuffing random things inside.

Also, make sure to get some rest; your dark circles are very heavy, Will. The Third Task is about to begin, and you need to prepare."

Will nodded, still examining the book trunk intently.

Dumbledore smiled. "I'll be off now, get some rest."

Dumbledore's retreating figure vanished at the end of the corridor. Will closed the trunk lid, placed it on his bedside table, and then collapsed onto the bed, casting a Sleeping Charm on himself.

"You were snoring," she said.
