Will immediately knew Dumbledore wanted to see him, though he had no idea why.
"Honey," Will said, giving Sylvia's hand a gentle squeeze, "you all go up to the High Tower. I have something to take care of. I'll be back soon."
Sylvia looked puzzled, but only asked, "Should I tell the House-elves to serve dinner a little later?"
"Whatever you think best." Will walked upstairs with Sylvia at the back of the High Tower group. No one noticed when he slipped away.
Once he was alone, Will opened the Thousand Paper Cranes. There was only one sentence: Come to my office.
Will knew the Headmaster's Office at Hogwarts well—he had been there more often than he had been back to the Slytherin Common Room.
When Will arrived, Lupin was saying something to Dumbledore and looked rather anxious.
Both men turned toward Will.
"Will, come here."
"What happened? You seemed pretty relaxed a few days ago, Lupin." Will sat down beside him.
"Tell him, Remus." Dumbledore looked at the worried Lupin.
Lupin briefly explained the situation to Will, including what Cedric had told him: Ministry of Magic staff were coming, reporters would be there, and so on...
"So?" Will frowned after hearing him out. "Why not let them come?"
"If they were coming in December, I'd be happy to. But they're coming on November seventh, the night of the next full moon. I'm afraid we won't have enough time. Maybe I should just hide next month?
"Professor Dumbledore, could you ask Moody to come back and teach for another month?"
Lupin frowned, silently cursing Umbridge. She was always stirring up trouble. If not for Cedric, they would have been caught completely off guard next month.
