Years later, after Neville had become a renowned Herbology master, he reportedly let this slip over dinner with Ron. Ron, now a Weasley commissioner, accidentally passed it on to Harry.

Harry was then head of the Department of Magical Special Administration, and for days his expression was so dark that many people thought war had broken out again.

Harry looked just as grim now. Snape was giving him another routine examination, complete with a steady stream of barbed remarks.

"It seems our Miss Potter has grown up and become a boy..."

"If you fail Potions Class, I'll appeal to Dumbledore. I'll suggest he hold you back a year, so you don't go and do anything else foolish..."

“You should thank that friend of yours whose intelligence falls short of a Troll's. Thanks to him, you've been able to skip lessons from your Hospital Bed for so long...”

As Harry recovered, the effects of the Strange Potions gradually wore off. Snape reverted to the venomous Old Bat who loved taking shots at him.

Harry was now more certain than ever that Snape had some sort of grudge against his father. He couldn't let Snape have too easy a time of it.

Harry shot back, "Professor, Ron certainly isn't as clever as you, but he's trying his best."

He was blatantly calling Snape a Troll.

"Talking back to a teacher. Ten points from Gryffindor." Snape stalked off with a dark expression, while Harry grinned.

His good mood didn't last long. The Potions he drank at noon tasted as though someone had stuffed a whole cow's stomach into a barrel of blue cheese, added Slugs and Pickled Auk innards, then sealed it for two months.

Harry even suspected Snape meant to kill his taste buds outright.
